How to finish the church scene?

I lit all the candles and played all the keyboard keys, but nothing seemed to change, and the narrative didn't go forward in any way, even after I waited many, many minutes. (Eventually I got bored and started watching random YouTube videos while waiting. The scene still didn't end. I don't suggest doing this, by the way, as it really spoils the mood.)

My impression is that the church is supposed to go to a cutscene on its own after a while? An earlier post here referred to http://devinandrewwhite.com/2016/01/23/that-dragon-cancer-when-prayer-doesnt-work/, which says:

"In front of you, there is a small piano and several candles. You can light the candles, but they go out quickly. Each key on the piano plays a different prayer, a different crying out for God. The lights slowly dim and the camera pulls back unless you keep lighting the candles and playing the piano."

But for me the lights did not dim and the camera did not pull back.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I had the same problem, I just kept playing with the lights and piano until the cut scene. Though, sometimes it would look like it is going to the cut scene but then doesn't. I would say, your best bet is to just keep fiddling around with the candles and piano. But it does sadly ruin the mood.

Had to do the same. I just kept messing with it until something finally worked...

There is a element of frustration in the mechanics, which is probably intentional, it's not a game, its a story, I set myself up to light 700 candles, ...and then I had paid enough, or I had eventualyl learned enough.

I alt-tabbed out of the game to find this thread... and heared from the background sounds that it just had switched to the next stage. X)
