Does this run on Steam Deck?

Going to try it once my deck is set up, just curious if anyone has tried it yet?

I got it to work, but you need to initially use the touch screen and then enable the game pad in the options. Even then it doesn't work quite as well as say the PS4 version.

Leech is correct, but once you're past the controls issue you'll hit a wealth of bugs. The devs never really fixed the linux compatibility issues that plague the game and as a result its just not playable on steam deck as of this date. You can hack around this by moving your save game to an android device to get past certain blockers, but be warned this is NOT playable IMO.

Wow, that's just terrible. Even worse is that now they're owned by MS, can we get Mr. Fargo to bother with fixing this old game on LInux?

The game neither works on Steam Deck/Linux nor a Windows PC in its current state. Both Windows and Linux ports are completely b0rked due to different input issues in both, including when run natively on Windows.

I’ve wasted hours trying to play this game and have just given up. Maybe console emulation is the way to go, but I haven’t looked into that and I know the engine proved difficult for emulators in the case of Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance.

I've been trying really hard. I learned to sort of manage the controller issues with my Steam Deck, but then I started getting random freezups of the game with any companion except the electric spider. With the PC version, I can save the game the first time in the tavern, but never again after that with any custom layout.

The steam version is very buggy however the GOG version works well on desktop mode. While trying to open it in handheld mode I see loading screen and hear all the sounds from starting screens but menu does not show up. Maybe someone else will manage to make it work in handheld mode?

Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance plays great on the Steam Deck, either using the native release of the game, or via PS2 emulation.
