No, first two are Apple IIGS versions and the last one is the plain Apple II version.

:( Ok

Why the :( ? The IIGS versions are the best, including automap and the best sounding music:

Are these emulated versions still included and working in the new "remastered" edition?

They work for me. They are indeed the best versions. :)

The DOS version is objectively the worst (particularly BT3, with lots of bugs, still present in the current official InXile distribution) followed by the Apple II and C-64 versions due to technical limitations.

Amiga, Apple IIGS and Atari ST versions are very similar graphics-wise.

On the Amiga there is no bard playing the intro, just a static Bard's Tale title image.[i.ytimg.com]
The bard character portrait is also different for Amiga[i.imgur.com] and IIGS/ST.[i.imgur.com]

Music is nice on all machines, listen to my comparison of bard songs. Some of the songs on the C-64 and DOS sound quite terrible however.

IIGS version has built-in automapping, which is a huge plus in my opinion.

Good thing the fonts are very crisp and readable on all systems. The same can't be said for BT2004 "resnarkled", although readable, i would expect better quality fonts in a remastered edition. Also, did i mention the abysmal controller support?

The Bard's Tale Original Trilogy Remastered is being developed by Olde-Sküül and will be published by InXile. It might be the best version yet to come, once Burger finished crushing all the bugs and the contract fulfilled, preferably this year, or early 2018.

At the risk of seeming dense (which I am), I played the latest Bard's Tale to completion a few times back in the 90's, but never actually got around to playing the early games because I was feeling snarky about fantasy geography.

On a whim I tried it earlier today, but wasn't sure what to do when asked to save into different slots.

I'm assuming there's a way to do this or a way around it on a modern computer.

Can anyone share some insight on this while I wait for the Q and E keys to be fixed on the latest game?

I can't get the autmap to work. Any help would be appreciated.
