Resident Evil 7 Biohazard
Resident Evil 7 won't launch!
So I just got done installin RE7. It didn't launch, I'll describe the error in the following text.

I want to ask the community first before writing this to the Support, since maybe some of you have already experienced and fixed this kind of issue.

So whenever I want to launch RE7, the only thing happening is my Steam changing my status from "Online" to "In-Game" for like 3-4 seconds. The actual game isn't even being launched, not even a panel for the game or an error message is being opened.

I neither think that my Hard-/Software is the cause for this, since every other game ni my library is working fine.
I currently run Win7 Ultimate x64 installed.
Mainboard: ASUS X99-E
CPU: Intel Core i7-6800k
GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070
RAM: 16GB HyperX (2x 8GB) DDR4 by Kingston
SSD: 250GB Samsung EVO
HDD (where my game is installed): 1TB Seagate
Cooler: Corsair H115i (water cooling)

Since I built this PC myself, I did not have any Drivers preinstalled. I installed both Graphics drivers from DVD aswell as every other Driver that comes with the mainboards DVD.

Hopefully you know how to handle this kind of issue, thanks in advance!

"I installed both Graphics drivers from DVD aswell as every other Driver that comes with the mainboards DVD."

Please don't do that. You have the internet. DVD drivers are so outdated. Please download drivers from your motherboard website and your GPU website.

There was a new Nvidia driver today released and optimized for this game. You should go download it.

Go to asus and download your chipset drivers. Go to realtek for your sound drivers.

Come back to us when you updated your drivers :D

your issue is probably that you installed the drivers from the DVD, they are usually 3 or 4 versions out of date right out of the store when brand new. Update your video card drivers from nvidias website. Technically you should update your drivers every time a new game comes out as there's usually specific things that need to be written into the drivers for those games.
i already have the gpu up to date, ill download the motherboard drivers as well.. Might be Important to say that my Windows 7 ultimate is actually Windows 7 ultimate N... could this be a point as well?
alright i got it fixed. needed to install some Additional Microsoft Programs. Thanks for your help though!
.net or visual c+ or something? might be helpful for others in the future to post what you had to install?
ill send a link to the forum or download link
Windows6.1-KB968211-x64-RefreshPkg.msu thats the program i needed to install
same thing is happening to me.im running windows 8.1 and i just downloaded the latest nvidia driver.
Hello Guys!

I have a solution, that has worked in my case: First: I thought, that my system was up do date. I have all the latest drivers and updates installed, but unfortunately there are some api-ms-win-....dll files are missing.

Go directly in the steam folder, where the game ist located. Double click on the "re7.exe".
Look what error message do you got. In my case there are over 20 dlls are missing. If you got missing dll message, type the missing dll file on google.. ..may be: "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll" go to one of the sites, where you can download the dlls. Do not download/use any programm offers like dll-fix or such crap.
I have used this dll-download site and it was very good: www.dllme.com. Copy the missing dlls manualy into your system32 and syswow64 folder.

For some of the dll files you have no rights to overwrite them but it is necessary to replace them.
Some of them are still installed, but invisible and not useable for the system - I don`t know why. Go to your folder options and set up to view all invisible system files. Than search for the dll file you could not replace. If your system has found it, click right on the dll and go to properties. Change the owner to administrator/username and click to full rights for read and write (short version) Than delete the files manualy and replace them with the new downloaded dll file for both folder.

any time you have got all dlls complete - the game starts and works fine.

I hope this would help!
Enjoy the game!

My system: Win7/64bit, i7 6700K@4,5Ghz, 48GB DDR4 RAM, 500GB SSD RAID, Inno3d Geforce Tatan X 12GB, Acer Predator X34 Ultra widescreen 21:9 ;)
The information presented by digitalego works. Don't bother installing this microsoft media ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. DLL's will still be missing.
I m keep on getting re7.exe - Entry Point Not Found - The procedure entry point _intialize_onexit_table could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\windows\system32\concrt140.dll I m so confused. I just bought this game too.. been trying to figure out for a long time. I downloaded all the missing Dll as well.. Any help would gladly be appreciated. Thank you for your time and considerations.
aznkid367, seems like theres some files that went corrupted while downloading.. try veryfing the integrity of game cache for RE7
I tried validating the game files... and still it doesn't work :( I bought it off greenmangaming so I dont think I would be getting a refund either....
maybe some core files werent installed properly, have you reinstalled it already?
Yea I uninstall and reinstall multiple times still no luck
