Stuck on main menu

I'm stuck on the main menu. I've played the game until just after the old house so it worked before. When I booted it today I reached the main menu and after that the game just does not respond. The music plays, I see a mouse pointer (although it is the Windows pointer) and I can alt-tab but no matter what I do, the game does not respond.

Before, when I alt-tabbed, the game suddenly turned very bright at times.

I validated the cache and tried rebooting several times.

I'm having this problem too, which is odd because I never had before now. I don't know what is going on but every time I boot up the game the arrow doesn't change to the one in the game and I can't skip the logos and intro cinematic and interact with the main menu. I can't even use my keyboard to navigate it, it might be a response issue.

Sounds like the exact same issue. I see you are playing the game atm. Did you manage to solve the issue?

I managed to get it to work. But I have a feeling it's not the last I see of this glitch. I got it to work by just left clicking the game screen when it showed up. Don't know if that's what did it or not.

Nope! Didn't work for me. I sent a message to tech support. Hopefully it will get patched over at some point.. For now, it seems my adventures in RE7 have come to a halt. Good to hear you can play again! I've enjoyed the game so far.

okay I found my problem - attached gamepad. Im playing with kb-mouse and probably attached gamepad means all the contols gonna be there

whats happens when my mouse doesnt even show up on the main menu. havent been able to play the game in like 3 days. oh and it ruined my setpoint drivers for my logitech keyboard and mouse had to reinstall them and ive tried reinstalling the game nothing helps

The game for me at least seems to have a problem with usb 3.0, if I move my mouse over to 2.0 it works. But then I have my keyboard plugged into the 2.0 ports and it doesn't work so I dunno, its a strange problem.
