Happens to me too.
here is the thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/418370/discussions/0/133255708300793919/
If the screenshot won't work using F12, this is bound to affect steam broadcasting, if you try to stream this game via steam, it would not work when users join, it will constantly say "Waiting for username to start broadcast" or something similar.
Maybe a few more f bombs will help?
Not that it proves anything but I've had 0 people join my broadcast, which I would say isn't normal as people generally do join it even on old games.
For the process I've tried:
-Uninstalled the new drivers, rebooted, clean installed 376.33, rebooted again
-Uninstalled new drivers, and done a clean install of them again
-Verified RE7 game files.
-I tried copying the steam_api64.dll file from the RE7 demo folder - where all of these functions worked fine, and replacing the file from the game
-Reinstalled RE7
-Totally reinstalled Steam
-Switched between Steam beta and normal version
-Tried run as admin on both Steam and RE7 executable
-Tried compatibility mode for Win7 and Win8
-Deleted the steam_api64.dll and forced Steam to re-acquire it, several times.
-Manually created the userdata\userid\760\remote\418370\screenshots and screenshots\thumbnails folders to try to jumpstart the screenshot function, but neither that nor the overlay color will work correctly.
-Also have messed with hDR on and off, windows, fullscreen, triple buffering, vsync off/on, brightness, and anything else that made sense.
It's this game and this game only. Nothing has worked. I also restored nvidia control panel to default settings with no luck.
All I find online are threads that I made, threads with my own video in them, my own video, or threads where the topic gets totally ignored immediately. Also disabled anti-virus, all background programs evne including LGS which is driver suite for my keyboard, mouse, and headset. Still no dice.
I've seen similar threads where people had issues with this on Quake Live and Sims 3, and they say they just used windowed mode. I tried that, no dice.
This is the only thing I think makes sense and it is what I was trying to say in my video. I think this game, because it uses BT.706 in addition to SRGB instead of just sRGB, is screwing up.
I've tried using borderless full screen through the game, as well as through a utility released a while back called Borderless Gaming. Regardless of which one, the issue persists. There is no way to change the color space to anything except SRGB or BT.709. either.
I've ALSO made sure my monitors are using the right colorspace profile - it happens on both monitors regardless of any settings which only reinforces that there is no possible way this could be an issue with our hardware or software.
Something about this game doesn't work correctly, that's all I can say,
I think so too, demo worked perfectly with steam overlay...
Thanks for letting us know about everything you've tried. The thing about the colour space may be the issue. But we need confirmation from Capcom. The thing is they stay quiet until now about this, which is sad
I imagine it will as the old machine is similar somewhat:
New: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, 32 GB DDR4-3200, GTX1080, I7-6700k, Evo 850 SSD
Old: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, 8 GB DDR3-2166, GTX750ti, I7-860, Evo 850 SSD
Gotta get the stupid authenticator so gotta charge my droid. Not sure why this is a thing - both machines are authorized.
Well, I streamed to the old PC and the issue was the same. I am installing it on that machine now to see if the same thing happens.
Edit***
Okay so I installed on my old machine and the overlay works fine, no brightness, and the screenshots work fine.
Wtf.
I did a quick compare and there is nothing installed differently between the 2 that should make any difference. The drivers are on the old machine for Nvidia are from August 2016. So I rolled back to the August 15 drivers for the 1080, and the issue persists.
I also wanted to add some clarification. It isn't just Steam screenshots that won't work and a bright overlay. I've tried with raptr, afterburner and Fraps and none of the mtake a screenshot.
I just don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ understand. What do I need to do? Reformat Windows? Are you going to make me do that, Capcom?
Both, I'm having both issues straight after deleting that file. I believe that since the file was previously created pre-patch it worked as it should and the new one the game created post patch with the HDR option at the beginning is now broken.
Also, I have taken plenty of shots before this happened, now I can't take a single one.
