Favorite and least favorite part of the game, and why?
Title.

Favorite: Marguerite Baker transformed fight.
I enjoy trying to see how fast I can kill her, beating her to the hives he lays etc, additonally it's super satisfying to know you don't have to listen to her ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ voice again.

Least favorite: Jack Baker tansformed fight.
Too simple a fight imo, "HERE'S SOME BIG SHINY SPOTS, SHOOT 'EM"
You can kill him with a knife if you hug any of the hugs constantly (apart from his head)
Even on Madhouse I found it too simple, stand underneath him in the circle and walk around shooting up, then climb ontop and shoot down.

I look forward to doing a knife only run soon, not so sure how I'll manage with the bosses since they're a lot more tanky in RE7 than previous games.

Its nice to see that most of the guys here s least favorite part is the ship etc. Its the first topic where i saw quite few people on the same opinion as i do. :)
It was too much.. i felt depressed as well, boring, felt different. the end-plot sotryline isnt too good either, about this child bioweapon sh*t. but going through the ship, specially for the first time, when you explore everything...makes you feel odd and want to get rid all of that bad feeling. And after all, unfortunately it puts a negative taste on the game. :/
that said. i enjoy the ship more now that i've beaten it twice. knowing the ship makes it more fun.
first part, all jack fights
favorite, garage fight.. for some reason it was so funny xD
Least favorite, well.. the ship part was boring as hell..

favorite - first section where Jack is the main bad guy
least favorite - the wrecked ship, the fact that you basically have to do it twice makes it worse
Favoure part: Pretty much any time you get to go around and search for stuff. The yard, the hunting room, the greenhouse after the fight with Marguerite... I just like looking around for stuff in this game, since you never really get a feeling of "Did I find everything?". But I also don't want to use the psychostimulants, in case it was a waste. I like a good perception challenge.

Least favourite part: The processing area. Whether it's before fight #2 with Jack or later on, looking for the snake key, it's just not that fun. Too many molded (I like the molded, but there's too many IMO) to fight, it can get way too panicky and I hate getting cornered.

I also gotta mention the boat. I'm kinda 50/50 on the boat- On one end, I liked the exploration stuff where you have to find everything on your own. It's like a nice restart. Also, it lets you get some other neat weapons that wouldn't make sense if they were in the Baker estate. Playing as Mia was nice too, She's kinda just been powerless throughout most of the game leading up to the boat so it's cool to see her do something and defending herself. On the other end, the story stuff. it was just kinda long and boring. Sure, it explained some stuff, but I just didn't like that as much.

My least favorite part is the beginning of the game:

Long videos. Running around in the forest.
The video tape with the haunted house guys.
Rescuing mia. Mias chainsaw shenanigans.
The f-ing dinner table scene.
Jack going around when you don't have equipment.

I finished the game 4 times now to get a lot of the achievements.
( ~8 times if you count the ones before I bought it myself )
And every single time I have to play all of that boring a$$ stuff. XP
I mean don't get me wrong it's awesome the first time but the game desperately needs a fast-start option after you finished on madhouse.
Just spawn me in the first save room with my knife and let me go to the garage, man.
( I should've kept saves at this spot for both normal and madhouse XD )

Apart from that nitpicking:

The ship.
It's easily the weakest part of the game. Pure padding.
You go up and down all round to get your stuff.
And in the the end you really only need a fuse and a cable.

Favorite parts:

Everything else. :P

I like exploring and fighting the molded more than the boss fights.
Although at this point I'm not exploring anymore.
Let's call it collecting instead. XP

Favorite Part: The first half of the game with the Baker Family, especially Lucas. I love how you meet each Baker family member and they all attack in different ways. Lucas was awesome with his games and psycho tricks he plays on you. The barn fight and the birthday cake scene with the clown was awesome! I just wish you could have fought Lucas like the other two family members. I wish the Bakers were just natural psychos that you had to defeat and then escape. That's all I wanted. The voice acting was actually pretty good and amusing!

Least Favorite Part: After getting the serum you go to a boat and the game completely goes down hill here. I didn't like Mia and Zoe and they didn't really need to be in the story. The final villain was also stupid and ruined the fun atmosphere.

Resident Evil 7 had the potential to be super amazing and awesome, but it really took a hit in the 2nd part of the game. The gameplay is fun and the Baker house charming, but the plot revealed is what makes it stupid. It's one of those games that I'd wish I'd just stopped playing halfway through. I don't mind Ethan as a character or that there's almost no music in the game, but what I can't stand is when the developers try to over complicate a plot as the game goes on. I just want plain villains and good guys. Keep it simple and that's what the first half does. The second half ruins it totally.
