Vive control bindings for the new Praydog's VR mod
Here's a screenshot of the process and a quick buttons guide
https://i.imgur.com/BuTzRLd.jpg

It's still somewhat a gimmick, since you can bind A/X buttons to the right controller only, and B/Y buttons to the left controller only (for whatever effed up reason). And, you can't bind D-pad buttons to the right controller, Also, surprise surprise, the a_button bind on the left controller scheme and the a_button on the right controller scheme are NOT the same ffs. So it took me long to realize all that BS trickery lol
You can find these bindings in the SteamVR controller bindings menu, under the custom comunity-made bindings tab.
The buttons bindings are in the description.
For example, "L.grip" means the grip on the left controller. "2*" means double-tap the button
I haven't disabled the extra abilities with gestures, they are still available to do:
-to block damage use your both hands raised infront of your face,
-to see the map reach over your left shoulder and press Left menu,
-to use a healing vial reach over your right shoulder, hold Right grip and move it to your left hand

J'étais aussi très contrarié au début. Et j'étais sur le point de supprimer le mod. Mais j'ai quand même décidé de faire un effort, parce que j'ai attendu ça trop longtemps

Nice job! Ya, i am baffled the the new vive ships with those useless wand controllers. Those things need to be discontinued so we can all move forward.

Honestly I never tried them tho. I am sure the controller tracking is miles better then inside out tracking witch is what i have always had.

Aren't these mods incredible? So amazing what was acomplished.

I just finished the greenhouse fight....Phew she got me good, i almost had to change my undiez.

lmao, when I found out they still ship vive PRO 2 which is the third (!) generation of vive ffs, boxing it with the very first generation wands, it just made me lmao. I still love them and the tracking is superb, but comon..

>finished the greenhouse fight...

playing on easy/normal difficulty I see?
I decided to go hardcore, and boi I died like 7 times in the basement section alone, fighting those spiderman molds is a pain in VR

I am playing on normal. Last time I played this was when it was first released for PSVR. Does hardcore add different gameplay mechanics / boss mechanics? Or does it just make everything harder to kill?

Asking to see if it is worth going through the game again on a harder difficulty after i unlock it.

yes, the hardest difficulty adds some extra stuff.
For example, you can't just "get" the M1911 gun. First you find the broken one, then you need to fix it using a repair kit you had to find before that.
Also, you can't just save the game. You need cassettes for that, and those are pretty rare. Auto-saving is disabled.
Items are placed in different places, there are more enemies, having more speed and more power, can kill you in 2-3 hits if not blocked.
The only good news is it's unavalable till you beat the game once, so you will get the Albert gun and the block buff scroll. If you'll ever play hardcore mode, you WILL need them.
There are also more cages with buff coins and injectors in them, so watch out for those ancient coins laying around

Hold on, how do I bind the A button? Or the B button? I cant find any options to bind buttons within the mod menu. In steam VR if I try to set controller bindings, it tells me to attach a controller... I guess it doesn't realize it's a VR game?

mod seems incredible, except for the fact it would leave both A and B unbound to any button by default... like what?!

Oh found it in the community workshop bindings thx! Knowing how to use the map and heal was helpful too. Cheers!

Bit too late, but It seems you've already found everything out?
Just in case, A button is bound to the right menu button, and B is bound to the left grip button. The whole description of my bindings is in the community-made bindings list.
Btw, I highly doubt more "convenient" bindings can be made on Vive, since you can't bind "A" and "X" to the left controller, and you can't bind "B" and "Y" to the right controller, for whatever effed reason.

By default the A was bound to (don't remember exactly..) double tap grip/or double tap menu button, (I think?). Anyway, something not that convenient.
It's that because 95% of vr users are on oculus, so the modders don't give a сrар about vive. I'm surprised it's even playable on vive, in the first place
