It's a biological weapon that has gained sentience and needs, which is why there's a focus on family. And she's not outright killing people, but assimilating them into her 'family'.

I think the need for a family was a collateral effect of the imprinting she's had to blend into the crowd, so not really something she had developed by herself. It's more like the mimic of human emotions of a vampire (if we really want to stay in the supernatural), than the development of actual human emotions.

Just because she has a (admittedly sad) reason for what she does does not give her a good excuse for doing it. She was a monster and putting her down was the best outcome. I very much doubt Ethan and Mia could ever get her to see the error of her ways and turn over a new leaf or whatever.

You need to watch more horror movies that involve exorcisms :D That's what evil entities do, they lull you into feeling sorry for them and give you a false sense of security and next thing you know you're dead. Though I hope for a future Resident Evil rather than going for the same creepy girl trope, Capcom seek inspiration from the case of Gef the Talking Mongoose, because I want an evil mongoose in a game damnit. Anyone bored really should read up on the crazy banana "true" story about Gef the mongoose

So let me get this straight: some British hillbilly claimed he saw or had a mongoose that was able to talk, and all the press of the era thought: "Yeah, seems legit! Let's see this thing"?

Guys, i can understand you..but you all are missing some really important simple facts that l´should let us doubt about this just an bioweapon thing...here are some of these: than you first time go for search for evelyn in mias memorys, mia sad that evelyn was SCARED! why? taifun? why it scared her what crazy?hmmm....+Mia was the one wh oused to be most close human for evelyn...she knows probalby from the start...but why they tranport such dangerous weapon so careless? and was it so high chances what enemys (other crops) would find and try to steal her? It means it wasnt what a really secure place and since they tranported her so freely without prooper security( and even had contact with other ship workers) she must have been realytivly friendly and/or they were having a way to controll her....+ if mia probably knows( very high chance) Evelyn nearly from begining...what means she should have known about her fast growing process....that means the hole facility should have known..but again in statemnet from worker in mines we clearly see that they didnt know about it..it means: it can be that she get old faster if she uses her power/ or its normal for she to get old fast but for some reason it was keept a secret....so now we have 2 mean conlusion possibilyties:1 she was more eze to cnotroll/ some kind of friendly to allies and didnt used/didnt wanted to show (her true) powers? or 2..this all was planned by corporation and hole trasport story was just a test of this bioweapon.....srr for bad ENG...and it isnt everything i have...but i hope you can undestand me from this point.
P.S...dont forget what there is very high chance(i go with 99%) what Evelyn was made out of human embrio.....like most such "monsters"....yeah..we dont have much information about how she was made...but she is probably at least has human DNA in her...

If you take a serious look in the end credits, there is some information why they needs a 10 years old girl as a bioweapon and 2 handlers to act as her parent and why this bow can destroy a country if it was perfected.

meaning, she WAS human. she's just modified from embryonic state. she is a victim!!!
for her motive and reasoning, if someone grown up in a lab as a bio weapon, how does he/she feels? mostly anger and resentment. evelin on the other hand just want a family. of course what she does is WRONG (by human morale), but does she even know that? when everyone just there to observe her and think of her as disposable weapon!!!

she is one of the first victim, it's just that she's also the only succesfull bioweapon yet. based on game story, how old is she? maybe even less than 5. does nobody still care for her? well i do, of course with her being a bioweapon, the only thing is to put her down (although i think leave her alone also kill her eventually)
