No VR mode on PC? Seriously, dude?
So I'm a little confused. I was thinking about getting this just for VR since it's one of the better first person horror games out there, but I can't seem find any info about a VR mode for some reason. Since PC has the best VR implementation out there, it would be the most obvious thing to support VR on PC, especially because PS4 had VR right off the bat. I was sure they would add a VR patch later but to this day it hasn't happened. So what's exactly going on here?

Not sure, but I heard of a program called 'vorpx' that might work with it, you'd have to research. I guess they were too lazy to do it for PC but they did it for PS. makes no sense.

No VR for RE7. The Devs have moved on. So should the people making posts all the time asking for VR which won't happen.

Unlike what people would like to be the case, Capcom didn't design RE7 around VR.
It was Sony who was actively promoting their headset and they invested into exclusives - as they do.

Basically they paid Capcom to port RE7 to VR on their platform, which Capcom did, and ensured a year-long exclusivity in case Capcom decided to also bring VR to other platforms.

Obviously Capcom didn't because it was not in their plans.

I haven't played the PSVR version myself, but from what I've heard it's not worth porting. As said above, VR was used to push the technology on Playstation using a few exclusives, but it didn't pay off enough in the end. I personally would love to see a new Resident Evil game on PC that's built for VR, especially seeing what is possible with HL: Alyx etc. Unfortunately that's unlikely to happen as console sales make up a majority of Capcom's revenue. After the mediocre response VII got on PSVR, that particular market is probably still a few years away from having a serious VR audience.

wait, what makes you say RE7 VR got mediocre reception and didn't pay off?
It was Sony paying for the VR implementation, and they're always investing heavily into their hardware.

And from what I've heard from PSVR users, RE7 is most often called their favorite VR experience on the platform despite not even being a dedicated VR game. It got pretty dam fantastic reception within the limited yet still plentiful PSVR community.

I said it didn't pay off ENOUGH in the end. There was plenty of ok games but nothing that sold the VR enough to make VR a selling point over other consoles. PC has a pretty decent library of VR titles for people to justify the purchase, not to mention the flexibility of various hardware to accomodate them.

And VII DID get a mediocre response from the people I knew who played it. Most of them said what many here have said time and time again - they wished they would just release it for VR on PC. Nobody said it was "bad", just that it wasn't built for VR like many other titles. I'm sure plenty of PSVR users thought it was great. More power to them.

fair enough. still, I'm pretty sure Sony knew it would be a niche product and likely not a profitable one this gen.
just kudos to them for investing into innovation and making an AFFORDABLE entry level solution with some solid titles, as well as exclusive modes in existing games like RE7 and Ace Combat.
