As I understand it, Joe Baker was definitely in the military (Marines if he went the same way as Jack) and it seems he has a history of Boxing. But no, he still shouldn't be able to crush molded skulls with punches, especially at his age (pushing 60 right?).

It's best to view EoZ as a goof, like the Jack's Birthday "Banned Footage". Not meant to be taken seriously, for some reason.

But as you can see in the dlc menu it is not Banned Footage. It is complete story dlc. It is like a continue of the main story.
In addition, Redfield is veteran of biological epidemics but even he cannot kill monsters that easy.
I think capcom just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up at this point

He's like 7 feet all muscle, easy for Joe Baker the southern Mike Tyson.

Well, that's because he spent a lot of years in the swamp doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and 10KM run daily.

PS: Chris can kill molded with punches and knifes. Try Not a Hero on professional.

it's established molded are pretty brittle and have a tendency to violently explode from knives or small arms fire.

someone who's 220 pounds of pure muscle and an ex-military trained boxer being able to ♥♥♥♥ them up is believable enough by RE standards

Ugh. Don't remind us.

He is used to face alligators, what would you expect?

Don't bother trying to find any logic behind this, Molded and most creatures in the series are strong enough to resist gun fire, they wouldn't die by just punching them. Capcom simply wanted RE7 to have a boxing bonus game and they did it.

they literally explode when slashed a few times with a pocket knife or from two or three 9mm rounds to the head.

EoZ is obviously campy and you're welcome not to like it but i really fail to see how *this* is where re7 stops suspending disbelief.

Is Chris being able to gore molded consistently with one quick jab an issue?
redsky1335 Dec 15, 2017 @ 9:25pm
To be fair, Chris doesn't just "jab" his targets. He first either shoots/stabs them in the face or blasts them with a grenade, and *then* he throws a wild leaping haymaker. Honestly easier to believe that bullet/explosion damaged skull could be smashed to bits by a massive punch, than it is to see what knives do to Molded xD

RE was originally campy B movie style, and sort of began to lose it's charm as it moved into "action movie" territory with 5-6. RE7 has a ton of camp, with some serious horror elements. All of the DLC is camp, excluding NaH.

Because Joe Baker is easily as tough as this guy. I like to think he secretly is this guy. But, yeah, EoZ is more of a 'check your brain at the door and get to it' sort of thing. While it's certainly not what I would want in a main scenario for an RE game, I'm fine with this sort of thing as DLC.

You're talking about gameplay and I'm talking about plot logic. I never said this started with EoZ or even with RE7, since melee attacks were included in the series they have allways been stronger than regular pistol bullets. And there's no logical explanation for that, it's just gameplay.

If anyone could take down infected monsters and BOWs with their bare fists or a pocket knife then for fully armed trained soldiers it would be a cakewalk, and we wouldn't see trained cops, BSAA units, Umbrella soldiers, etc. allways dropping like flies. Gameplay and lore don't follow the same rules.

Well, these molded need a host, assuming they might be not humans but instead something else from the swamp, like a alligator? Remember the bug that molded into the being stemming from that one place, these things could simply be an extension of that.

Sure, but the actual "skin" of Molded beings is a calcified shell. Basically a buglike carapace made from bone which can liquify and contort at will. Imagine punching a solid bone plate- Floyd Mayweather Jr. breaks his hands all the time from Boxing with gloves on most of the time, and he's punching people.

This is kind of fun to nitpick, but really it's meant to be silly. I enjoy it for it's goofiness.
