RE7 Ethan

Hey everyone! I just wanted to start a discussion about Ethan! Was there anything you learned about Ethan that was surprising? How do you like Ethan as opposed to previous Resident Evil protagonists?

While I was doing some character research for an article, I came across a lot of surprising stuff that I didn't realize throughout the several times I played the game. For instance, I didn't realize that the Infection Report in the Salt Mines heavily implies that Ethan was infected at some point. I can't help but wonder if that will have any bearing on future Resident Evil games!

Well, i liked Ethan. He was a down to earth person who suffered more than any other character in the series and had the balls of steel to oppose anyone who standed in his way. He got his arm chopped off, his leg chopped off and even tho he was surprised, he just shrugged it off.

Ethan got infected the moment he came with contact with Mia. This is why his arm worked when stapled, otherwise he would have to undergone a surgery to connect every single nerve and waited for a long time for recovery, even then he probably couldn't move his hand like before.

His leg came clean off with a shovel. What he did is put his leg back where it was, used some Medicine on it, and the mold just, well, molded it together with all motoric functions intact.

Now that Ethan is infected, who knows what they will do with him. Run experiments, let him roam free? No one knows that yet, but they did save him at the end and it seemed like a search and rescue mission to me. Besides, they couldn't have known that he was infected at the time, apart from falling 10m from the ground and pretending nothing happened.
