what was the point in making ethan must die
like its not even enjoyable, only playing it for one single achievement, if people enjoy rage inducing mental tormenting minigames then idk what this world has come to, how can anyone enjoy this, biggest waste of time

it's my favorite DLC in the game, I still give it a run or two sometimes.

the whole thing is a navigation/combat puzzle.
You don't have to engage every enemy. You may not even have to shoot a single bullet until you get downstairs, maybe a few shots if you're unlucky with using traps.

Well believe it or not, some people love things like this for the sake of a decent challenge. Not everyone plays games to just breeze through them like its Doom, i can promise you now, if you cant beat the main game on mad house, yeah doing ethan must die is a waste of time because you arent skilled enough as a player. I dont mean to sound like a prick, but its the honest truth, if you cant beat the main game on mad house you will not beat ethan must die.

And how do you know if the guy's already beat up the Madhouse level or not? Beating Mad House doesn't mean that Ethan Must Die is still a enjoyable experience for other players, so it's a waste of time for them, and there must be players who have already achieved the "Ethan Never Dies" before beating the Mad House. That's not the honest truth, that's you being a prick and trying to disparage someone.

You clearly didnt read ♥♥♥♥ did you. Nobody said HE HAD TO ENJOY IT, i said some players like the challenge, just because you dont and they dont doesnt mean that nobody does. How do i know? simple as i said, if you cant beat mad house you wont beat ethan must die because its harder than mad house, however its not as hard as you folks make it out to be. Its called having skill and common sense and to choose what you do carefully, its not rocket science. Nobody said that beating the game on mad house would make ethan must die enjoyable you dip, learn to flippin read before making claims about ♥♥♥♥ that wasnt even said let alone implied.

Are we playing the same Doom? Cause it sure isn't a game you just breeze through on higher difficulties)

trolling aside, Takii does make a good point about Madhouse being sort of a 'prerequisite' for Ethan Must Die. Madhouse makes you unlearn some habits and gain some new ones - much like Hardcore in REmake2.

And Ethan Must Die isn't even the hardest DLC imo. Simply because when you figure out, it mostly becomes mechanical work and revolves around different 'builds' from random loot.

To me, Nightmare is the hardest DLC by far.

gotta admit this is still a bull sh*t dlc because i just got 3 shot killed by a moulded while i blocked all attacks from full health and i was spraying him right down with a burner

shot a box and then an entire room explodes, weren't even any wires anywhere. nice

- The moulded are very resistant to fire, forget about flamethrower for anything but Marguerite.
- Block doesn't prevent damage, it mitigates it. 3 shots is plenty, given that one brings you down to low health, and the fast moulded can one shot you. Again, do Madhouse to understand.
- Some boxes are rigged with explosives at random. You have to stand close to it and listen closely. If it's ticking - it's an explosive trap.

It's all doable and there's no BS there.
You can do it, just stay in the mindset that there IS a relatively simple solution to every encounter and if you're getting killed you're probably haven't figured it out just yet.

Good luck!

i think this dlc along with all of the other 4 besides Not a hero and maybe End of zoe are total ♥♥♥♥. thers is nothing new. same exact setting replaying same areas. with a time limit and a score system..no story.. . seeing the same ♥♥♥♥ is just boring. if it was a different environment then it might of been worth while.

plus, for the prices they have set, they're not really worth it, its like $15 just for end of zoe lol? which is about a 2 hour long dlc.
$15 FOR 2 HOURS

Yes, and? Games costed 80€ before in the NES/SNES era and were 2 hours long.
REmake3 costs 60€ for 4-6 hours. The original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis also costed 60€ for 6 hours. So what is so strange about 15€ for 2 hours of game time? Especially given that games cost MORE to produce now than ever before.

Both REmake 2 and 3 can be beaten in under 1 hour, same goes for RE3.
RE7 base is by far the longest game even by speedrun standards.

I literally searched up “why was Ethan must die created” not because I hate it, but i’ve just never considered what the inspiration was behind it (if there was any). Then I immediately see this and am subjected to Mister whiny pants over here who is only complaining about the DLC just cause he sucks at it. I know it’s an old discussion, but I just like seeing how no matter where you go for any subject on the internet, there is always some people hashing it out in some form.
