Which is the better game RE7 or RE2 remake? Also differences between the two games?
I know they are different horror games, one is first person the other is third person. I played through the remake of 2 and enjoyed it, what are some differences between that game and this one? Which one is better?

The first reply is pretty spot on. REmake 2 is clearly the better game. But the cinematic feel of 7 was as good as that element is in REmake 2.

Even if it's not quite as good, 7 is still an excellent game worth getting.

They're both good, but I think I got greater enjoyment from this game (for reference, I played it after RE2 remake, and these are the only two RE games I've played to completion).

RE2 was much shorter (there are 4 campaigns, but they're all almost identical except for ~1 hour difference in the middle). There's maybe 8 hours of non-repeated content overall, while RE7 has at least 15.

I didn't find either very scary, but I did enjoy RE7's cutscenes a lot more than I should have for the wrong reasons. I was always grinning at the over-the-top gore and frequently laughed out loud. Maybe that wasn't the designers' intentions, but the whole reason to play games is for fun, and RE7's cutscenes and scripted sequences/fights were a lot of fun.

Claire and Leon weren't very interesting characters. Maybe they're better in the other RE games, but they were sort of blank in RE2. Claire was better than pretty boy Leon, but neither had much personality beyond the tropes. Ethan has zero personality, but the supporting cast (the Bakers and some of the one-offs like the TV crew at the beginning) were a lot of fun to watch. In RE2, only Annette Birkin (mother of the year award) and Xzibit were memorable.

RE2's gameplay was definitely tenser, especially on hardcore where you have limited saves. Every bullet counts and there's rear-iris-puckering tension. OTOH, RE7 has better action. They're both pretty good in that respect.

RE2 remake clearly has better graphics. Both settings are fine, but RE2's environments are more interesting and varied. Way too much of RE7 is in a samey-looking beaten up house with similar textures and room designs, while every room of the police station is different and memorable.

Uh 15 hours? I mean yeah with the DLC if you want to 100% everything I guess, but the main story is like 7 hours (if you're taking it slow) and End of Zoe is maybe 2 at best. In both cases replayability is more important and while 7 is fun to replay, 2 is probably better.

RE7 took me 12 hours on first playthrough. Didn't rush it but didn't take it too slow either, just careful exploration.

Both are pretty bad games.
RE7 lacking the native VR support. Low game time.
and RE2 is just a boring remake and cashgrab.

Hope they make something innovative with RE8 with native VR multiplatform or something ...
Or maybe forget capcom as a company and find better indies :3
The last good game they released was RE:Revelations and that was like ages ago ...

Didn't play any DLC yet. Maybe I just suck and died a bunch. Also I got lost for a while.

RE7 was a ton of fun when I first played it but it's a game that I can't really motivate myself to replay.... I know RE5 and RE6 were very different games but they're the other two RE games that I can't motivate myself to replay. I've replayed the rest of the main franchise multiple times over many years, and RE2 is a little like that where I know I'll replay it in a couple of months

RE7 is much better imo. First person did this game justice while 3rd person makes games much less scarier

I love BIOHAZARD RE:2 but BIOHAZARD 7: Resident Evil is a better game.
It's the most terrifying game of the franchise and the story and narration are really good.
KatoDog11 2019 年 4 月 8 日 下午 8:33
REmake2 is boring and bland. It reuses some assets from RE7 that were originally made in high definition and turns them into low definition objects that look like the were made with ps3 era textures. The enemy variety is poor and again, boring. NOTHING at all about the entire game is scary or nerve wrecking. Mr. X is a walking meme and is a total joke. His AI is horrid and he instill little actual horror into the mix. Remake2 was PATHETIC.
