Sorry fanboys but Resident Evil 7 was not a Resident Evil game

I don't know why people keep refering to 7 being part of the series...This was a failed marketing attempt by capcom who wanted to sell a random generic game and try to pass it off as a Resident Evil game by slapping the name on it. And feeble minded gamers bought into it. In fact people still think it's a Resident Evil game.

Don't get me wrong, if you like the game, you like it good I'm not saying don't like it, but calling this a Resident Evil game is exactly the same thing as calling Sacred 3, a Sacred game, or Fallout 76, a Fallout game, or Elder Scrolls Online, an elder Scrolls game. It's really nothing but a major slap in the face insult to the franchise, and a prime example of how a name does not constitute anything about the franchise, while using the name just to sell it.

In retrospect, I know I'm not the only one who thinks that RE7 should have just been called, "The Family" because that's exactly what it was. Except for the title, RE7 it has absolutely nothing Resident Evil, in, or attached to it, in any way shape or form.

Well RE 7 is Resident Evil whether you like it or not. My opinion: Resident Evil 7 took the series into a much needed direction... away from whatever Resident Evil 6 was. What makes a Resident Evil game? If you didn't think RE 7 wasn't Resident Evil... then you clearly must of thought the same for RE 6.

I've actually felt that way ever since it came out, but 4 does have Leon, Ada, and Wesker tying it to the rest of the franchise at least.

I also do not consider RE4 as a resident evil game either. A title and character do not make a game what it is. It's the same exact thing as why infinite ammo being used on HC means it's no longer HC...People will try and argue that because the menu said so that's all that matters totally ignoring the entire premise of what makes a game or play mode what it is. So people think a title makes a Resident Evil game.
