Where do you get the pistol in Not a hero Professional?

In the area with the lasers, the only way to get through is to shoot the little creatures before they activate the lasers. The walkthrough I'm using simply says you need to use the pistol in this area, but not where you get it. I'm not seeing any answers online, some help would be appreciated.

You get it upon entering the area with several mine carts that you have to push to open a path.

yoiu can one tap those things with a knife when they jump at you. thats what i did
