Any tips for Madhouse?

I think these are only ones that you NEED.

1st call - After first encounter with crazy mia.
2nd call - Laundry room after hatch key.
3rd call - After chainsaw jack/3dog door outside in trailer.
4th- Just inside crow door in old house after checking baby box thing.
5th - Lucas in trailer after getting D Arm. JUST HAVE TO HEAR IT RING. don't need to answer.

all other calls are optional.

Tips for madhouse. Remember you get a free autosave when you move to an area that you can't return from. example after Mia attic fight you will get an autosave right after dinner table scene. this can save you some tapes. They don't happen too often but they help.

Try to save a couple 4-5 HQ handgun rounds for fourleg molded, they will appear much sooner in madhouse.

Don't use the pump shotgun, fix the x2shot one in the scorpion key room.(suggestion)

Remember molded cant open doors, and craft many flame rounds for the granade launcher that you will get early.

Honestly the only thing giving me trouble is Jack seems a lot more random in his movements in Madhouse and I'm having a hard time getting to places I need to be IE: Scorpion room upstairs as well as all the items up there

i did beat it without cheats but not without almosy rage breaking my computer several times. madhouse was garbage.

But you just sound like a little ♥♥♥♥♥. Frankly thats quiter talk yeah Madhouse is hard as balls but its nowhere near worth getting so mad you break something over it. Maybe look into some anger management classes or something.

Madhouse isn't really that hard.
Actually apart from the boss fights I think it's the same difficulty if not a little easier in some places.
Marguerite can be a pain in the a$$ though.

1.
Get the scropion key as fast as possible (duh).

2. Jack
If you can get your hands on some enhanced pistol ammo it's worth considering to shoot down jack once to get all the stuff on the second floor.

Alternatively what you could try (haven't tried this):
Go down to the disection room and grab the last dog thing so that jack is doing his short speech.
Maybe he'll wait down there for you and not reappear on the second floor.

Yeah I strongly recommend this as well.
I only got the pump action during my first playthrough on normal.
From that point on I just let it there in that room and grabbed the one on the second floor right away.
You have access to a repair kid as soon as you can leave the house.

You don't really need a shotgun to reach that point.
Or you could still grab it and just not reload it (means only load it once) because as soon as you have the better one the ammo in the weapon goes to waste. ;P

One rule of thumb for me is: If I have enough resources I'm trying to have exactly 3 first aid meds with me. Enough to save me when $hit hits the fan and still only uses one slot.

5.
Another rule of thumb for me on madhouse is:
As long as I have at least one save tape in the itembox I don't care how much I save.
Just keep one of them just in case.

6.
Other than that aim for the head and conserve ammo where ever possible.
Try to dodge molded if possible.
I still killed everything on my madhouse playthrough, so that's definitely possible too.

So far what I've learned from madhouse is

Runing is easier and more reliable than fighting.

Every time you enter a new area consider yourself a gonner and just try to learn as much as possible before you die so you can come up with the best routes to whatever loot is in the area

The double barrle is absolutely amazeballs.

Also on the subject of bosses the only one thats given me any trouble so far was Jack's first form in the Garage because itseems like even odds between him pulling you out of the car and destroying you with it or marching infront of the headlights like a good numb nuts and letting you run him down.


But I beat his chainsaw form and Margret first try. (The only time I died to Margret was during the fight in the pit because she fell on me and I got stuck between her body and the wall and when the flood of bugs came I was trapped and died)

Its funny because the first time i encountered Jack on Madhouse this happened:

And with a little knowledge the fight is really easy even if he gets the car. I would even say its less stressfull to have him take the car and then just knife him to end it.

And in general i would say kill the spider Molded, outrun the humanoid Molded. My run was really intense from all the Molded breathing down my neck. Especially around doors.
And if you don't like the challenge then don't play on Madhouse. No need to cheat when there is an easy difficulty.
