That said even without motion controls the immersion factor skyrocketed, and I'll be looking forward to a PC VR version even if they don't change much.
That's not true, it has more than just a stereoscopic view. It still tracks your head position/movements to look around, as well as for aiming weapons, but there's no moving your hands around freely since they chose not to go with the move controllers.
I imagine the PC version will work the same way when/if it gets its VR (aiming with your head, etc).
I have to say though, playing through RE7 from start to finish in VR is one of the best gaming experiences I've had, and it's definitely the scariest one as well, by far. I also did what I could to maximize the experience, by only playing during evenings/nighttime by myself in a dark room with headphones. Not knowing what to expect from the game also adds a lot, and I'm glad I never looked at any footage before playing it.
(IMO the only way to do VR, sitting VR makes me simulator sick for literal days at a time.)
It also has "hand" tracking for one or two hands with games that support the PS move controllers, but like I said, RE7 doesn't do that. There's also the "Aim" controller, which is sort of shaped like a rifle, though not a lot of games support that one yet, but it's actually pretty cool and fun to use, at least in Farpoint.
Trying to say PSVR doesn't suck compared to Desktop VR is absurd.
Two companies made all the tech to make their product work the way it should.
One company figurativley cut every single corner there was -- going so far as to repurpose already existing (and spotty) tech to fullfill essential requirments for VR parity despite being completley suboptimal.
And yet that ♥♥♥♥ show of a full package is still somehow more expensive than the rift + touch currently.
Explain that. You know sony has a literal mountain of wands and cameras no one wanted that they could have thrown in to the base product at an already experienced loss. Instead consumers are stuck footing the check for their failed products to be cobbled on as an afterthought so they can recoup money on said failed tech.

Gone again
It was showing Resident Evil 7 under VR games in the steam store.
If we're lucky, good to stay positive though.
