Game experience ruined by idiot 'boss' fight
So there I was, really enjoying the game, discovering the house, having fun with some cat and mouse games with certain characters.

But then, there is a boss fight. The one with the chainsaws It ruins the game. Why would they make this? Who implements this and then thinks "OK our playerbase will enjoy this"?

I have tried it 6 times and raged. Game experience kind of destroyed for today.
Needed to vent after this let down.
Seriously, what's fun about doing something 5 times just to discover some vague game "mechanic" (or more like script) and accidently "stumble" through the fight ...

I did enjoy it, very Ash of them to include it as well as other things. Not the first thing in an RE game to go all chainsaw on you, this time however you get to give it right back. Thought it was brilliant!

Yeah those boss battles are kinda bad. But is not that hard just frustrating

Honestly you just have to learn the enemy movements... just like ANY other boss fight in ANY other video game. Just because your tactic didn't work out for you, whatever it was, doesn't mean it was an "idiot 'boss' fight." Perhaps if you spent less time raging during the fight you would have realized your tactics weren't working and, and adjusted accordingly to beat the fight. Perhaps your tendency to easily rage should let you know these types of games aren't for you? Just a thought.

i like how on mad house she can take 20 + bullets in the face and still stand up ...

OP, go get some air and relax, the fight is easy if you pay attention to your surroundings and how to properly use chainsaw. FYI i was raging also untill i found out how to abuse the "bodies" and secondary chainsaw atack.

p.s. Next boss even more enoying, just breath deeper and beliave in your self :)

My concerns with Chainsaw is that Jack keeps hitting me through the brick column..

Very frustrating fight.

This. Got me so mad as he had did it 3 times to me.

Other than that, the fight is so easy now. Hold RMB and go to town on him, only stop to restart its engine, and rinse and repeat till you win. Kinda ridiculous tbh.

It's a gladiator pit fight with Jack, but jack is slow and his moves are too obvious, not really hard at all, just very intimidating at first. When he picks up one of the 2 chainsaws behind the fence, it's obvious what you need to do. You duel with him with the other one. The game even hint to you how to use secondary attack to finish him off. Also, you can block Jack's chainsaw attack by swinging at him the same time as he is swinging his chainsaw at you.

It is basically the same thing with Marguerite. But for me, she is a lot more scarier, as she has a very grotesque and deformed look and a very eerie voice. She moves on walls and ceilings and can disappear and reappear when she takes damage. The environment is also very dark and full of insects. The game hints that you need the flamethrower to beat her and her insect offsprings but I think I just kill her with the shotgun to the abdomen, where she carries her insect babies.

You have Dark Souls 3. How are you finding this boss hard ? How did you beat all the bosses in DS3 ?

Maybe not hard but annoying and frustrating. I did refund because, after fighting Mia and then Jack, I realized a mechanic of going in circles around an obstacle and shoot the enemies to the head (and they can receive literally pounds of lead) and it appears they "die" not by damage, but at a certain cinematic point. This game is more like a "rail" shooter, like Killer 7, where the path is in a line stablished by a script and all you have to do is get on that rail with no option but do what the developers desired.
Dark Souls III is not the same. You can beat a boss by different combo of weapons/armor, close or far range, you can receive help from friends and you choose to level up, gather souls and be prepared for the fight. There is more freedom of playing. I think as the OP does.

Mindset. In DS you kind of expect to die and everything is kind of hard when someone is new to the series.

For some reason I did not really enjoy the chainsaw fight. meh
It took me an actual 50 attempts to kill the giant goober ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on madhouse mode. The chainsaw battle cost me 5 super heals. Get over it

Which one? The first one or a later one?

On the first one I had no idea what to do. The staircase retracts behind you so I thought there was another switch, and died 2 times total even when trying to shoot her because she will randomly buttrush you all the way across the hallway. Plus it takes you 4 minutes to reload your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 7 round 1911 with one hand.
