Save file gone? (Edit!: Working for real this time!)

I went to go play and it asked me to create save data. When I clicked continue it said save file not loadable. I was about 3 hours into the game and if it lost my save then I'm goint to be pretty upset. I just got the grenade launcher and I saved the game at the trailer then exited the game via the game menu. I did not force close or anything. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

FIX: Simply reboot your PC and load the game!

Are you the administrator of your PC ? Not having the rights to write in the C: will give you problems like this or if your directory where it saves is Read only.

Yes, I am the admin. I had no problems last night when I saved, quit and played again.

Ok, I think I found a way around it. When it asks to create a new file, say yes and instead of going to continue, go to Load and they should be there.

DAMN IT ALL. I was fighting a boss and I died and I went to go Retry and it said it could not load. I'm going to see if I can get a refund for this game.

My game crashed at the Shipwreck area near the end of the game, save file "not found" ever since, really upsetting ;(

i had that aswell, after restarting my PC it was gone, i think thats somehow related to the micropatches campcom issued, afterall i just noticed that after a patch was installed.

Edit: Or try loading your game manually and then saving once more ingame. then restart pc. i think its becuse the autoload system doesnt recognize older versions save files.

Confirmed, this did the trick for me, simple restart lol... wow, that's a first, welp, can't complain, my save file is usable again, thanks Poncho :D

i had this, played for 2 hours, took a break, then came back to see "no save data exists", relogged steam and everything was back to normal

EDIT: It worked! Wow, I'm in IT and my first suggestion is to always reboot your machine. Why didn't I think of this?! -_-
