It's even in the name Biohazard, and I really wish Capcom had never changed the name in the US version to Resident Evil but it couldn't be helped because it was the name of a pretty bad DOS game that had come out before.
Since this game is still about bio-organic weapons, it's still very much a Resident Evil game.
Zombie or not, Aslong as the game dosent include paranormal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and sticks soley to viruses and mutations Im fine.
It was about government cover-ups, conspiracy, genetic engineering, bio-weapons, viral engineering and the situations and ethics around those.
Zombies, T-virus infected humans, happened to be featured heavily in 7 of the 7 original style games. They also had a lot of bio-engineered creatures and humans in them, too.
So again, it was never about zombies.
On that note, the proper way to play the original RE games (not on easy mode) was to ignore and dodge all of the zombies whenever possible in order to conserve ammo so when you got to an actual boss like Yawn, or the Tyrants, you didn't die. So it was also never about killing zombies.
Ye but they were not main, fodder enemies. Zomb...humans infected with some virus while still looking human were.
"You didn't mention Hunters, man you haven't played RE1, totally."
He forgot about the dogs and giant spiders, clearly he has not played RE1 /sarcasm
You'd have noticed that by the fact that literally the only advantage of killing them in RE0, RE1, RE2, RE3, RECVX, Outbreak and Outbreak 2 was that it was easier to run down a hallway.
It's not like RE4 where they dropped ammo and you literally had to kill enemies to proceed because it was a scripted event.
These are zombies -

Gabe please do another AMA so I can ask "WHY CAN'T I +1 COMMENTS" ^
All today has done on this forum is remind me that the majority of gamers have no idea about anything, they don't understand games at all in the slightest bit.
Even one of the hundreds of generic zombie games, any given one, is not "about" zombies. Zombie driver isn't "about" running over and shooting zombies. Zombies Ate My Neighbors isn't "about" zombies.
No thanks, opinions should resonate by themselves not because someone said "I liked that." - It functions fine as it is so there's no need to fix what's not broken.
