Physcial copies are bound the same way to regions as are Steam keys. If you are buying a physical copy, which is basically a worthless disc and a key as it is; you will need to buy one within your region.

You are wrong my fellow friend. I have got in the habit lately of buying physicals and from different regions, mainly UK and the codes work absolutely as described in US account. I have purchased sonic generations from UK, RE6, and more and none have given me issues being region locked. I understand they comewith the steam code, but why not have best of both worlds? You get the physical AND steam code, which is what i use but i still enjoy for MY satisfaction on having the physical copy.

That is entirely dependent on the physical copy being global. If a game has specific restrictions desired by the publisher from a digitial standpoint; the same restrictions are applied to phyiscally purchased copies. The only difference between physical and digital on PC is one has a automated key and the other is a printed key along with a worthless disc. The same premise applies though. If RE7 has no digital geographical restrictions; you can buy a physical edition; preferably a global listed one. As with all games; RU ones wont work globally though.

The retailer should specifiy the key type/applicable region in their product description. If this is not stated; you should contact them direct. As long as it's a global key; it will be fine.

Wbacon came out before release and warned capcom is starting to region lock their games beginning with re7. Buy at your own risk

Is the Steam gift region locked? I checked the db (https://steamdb.info/app/418370/) and it has a lot of different packages. If I buy a copy from the EU (Holland) will it work if I gift it to someone lets say in Asia or US?
