Guess I'll be waiting.
I wouldn't think so, The game is built for the platform.. Revive works for oculus games but not PSVR, With that in mind I believe that the steam release and the PS release are completely seperate branches because of the platform, and potentially no VR code is in it. The exclusivity timer should mean that the developers have time to perfect it for vive, but my experience with capcom, don't bet on it. I will try it, and refund immediatly when i see another failed port.
Simply put, Don't give them your money. You worked hard for it, and they didn't.
See the good side of things: this overhyped game is going to be a great advertising for VR, that will help spreading VR to the masses.
everybody i know who tried it says the locomotion in RE7 made them feel dizzy and they almost puked. in 2018 there wont be room for a VR game like this, and i doubt capcom will spend money on making it a proper VR game, so just forget about this and move on.
im pretty sure RE7 will NEVER be a proper VR game, it isnt on PSVR since youre only sitting down and movement is super slow to avoid motion sickness.
and they definitely wont spend time and money to make it work well on PC VR... in 1 year!
fingers crossed RE8 will be cross platform and have a proper VR mode
I bet RE8 will still be exclusive in some way, if we don't show them what it will cost them. If every vive owner waited until steam VR release of RE7 in a year when it costs half as much they will see the cash they got from sony for VR exclusivity is just petty cash..
There was a game i tried, it was free, medevil type game that had both teleporting and motion-controller-joystick movement, Cant think of the name but that was the worst for me, standing anyway. it had me leaning to counter-act non-existant momentum and i felt unuasual pretty quickly.
If you havent felt motion sick from any STANDING game you've tried. Try some more.
Try Half Life 2 VR. I thought I was immune to any kind of motion sickness (car, boat, VR...) untill I played that level where you dive up and down in a pool filled with wood boxes (the strange physics had already made me feel uncomfortable 12 years ago, even on a flat screen) ... Sickness during several hours, like I never had felt before!
I will stay on topic by saying ♥♥♥♥ both exclusive VR and Sony.
Try Adrift - I'd never got sick in VR until playing that
