New Chris face completely ruined immersion from the final scene!

His appearance was supposed to be a big surprise! Instead I was sitting like "who the F it is???" It ruined the moment completely!
Maybe old Chris model is not so realistic, but it is realistic ENOUGH not to be removed with some random guy and to break such a surprise:

Bright recognizable character is turned into generic person without any individuality or memorable traits. FU, CAPCOM, for ruining one of the most iconic characters in video games!

I still prefer the RE6 design of Chris alongside Craig Smith as excellent voice actor. In 5 Chris was a bit too buff, and the original REs made him look weaker than he actually was as ex-military with authority problems.
But i am also used to change by now. All the different RE writers and character designers have left a variety of impressions. Just thinking about Jill and Claire.

This sudden appearance of a redesigned Chris in 7 certainly caused some confusion even amongst the most knowledgable fans and Capcom could have made it more clear. But since their whole intention was to go a different direction while losing old weight this here is the outcome.
And i expect more suprises with different looking but well known characters in the future. Not to forget different voice actors (probably even because they cost less as RE7 is not knows for its high budget).

Resident Evil franchise is iconic, and by extension so are the original characters present in the original game. Jill, Chris, Wesker and Barry/Rebbeca.

Why do you think so many people like Hunk, who canonically only appeared briefly in one game. For his charming non existing personality? The character design is cool. the backstory makes him a badass and has a mysterious tone. Done. I fail to understand some hatred on the character based on that argument.

its still the same old chris you know. its not some "random" guy. you're so worked up about seeing said character not even for a MINUTE, he says one line and in your eyes capcom has ruined a character lol. how can you handle change in the real world.

I'm not the same way but some people feel they ruined chris because they feel capcom is going to change him. Not only does he look vastly different but he's in an umbrella helicopter.

Different face, different voice, different body shape... Too many changes to believe it's Chris. That's why reaction was not "JESUS CHRIST, THERE IS CHRIS IN RE7!!!" but "Who the hell is this guy?"

The person only says their name is 'Redfield' but everyone immediately assumes it's Chris.

It's clearly a post-transition Claire. Note the red hair and nose/mouth

Why should I assume this is Chris if he is slim, has different face, haircut and voice, while in Vendetta Chris is big and has well known face and voice???
