How does evie manage to escape confinement to begin with?
I don't own the game but ive watched gameplay on youtube and the one thing that bugs me is how did evie escape containment? Does it ever say what that guy from the boat flashback did?

They mention she's deteriorating, which happens when they don't give her a dose of.. whatever it was.

Probably didn't give her a dose, she goes bonkers, RE7 begins.

I remember that part and that they didnt keep up with dosages (she also begins to age rapidly) but what did the guy do? He was like "im sorry it was all my fault". What did he seriously skip out of dosages?

Yeah its probably literally just that. The doses seem to keep her pacified and her "powers", so to speak, in check.

I'm going to make a wild guess, but I'm assuming the so called "dosage" are human specimens.

Why I think this can be a possibility is based on the captain's dialogue of regret and the timing of when E-001 went out of control, which was while she (or it) was being transported.

I'm not really into theories but it makes sense for me that while the "laboratory" was able to supply her enough of her "food", the transport ship wasn't nearly capable of keeping Eveline from going ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy. Not that she was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy before the outbreak with her obsession with families, but I digress.

What containment?? I thought she was on the ship pretending to be the daughter of Alan and Mia.

If I didn't miss something, then it's simply not explained beyond Allan somehow being responsible for it. The "deteriorating" is only after she already escaped so I guess it is rather effect than cause - once she slipped away they couldn't give her dosages of whatever stuff she "needs".

Yeah, she wasn't in a holding cell or something, but obviously never unaccompanied.
wait if thats the case then how did Evie go out of control and Allan get infected? It can't be as simple as her not receiving injections on time.

From the RE wiki:

" ship was attacked by a mercenary force as a hurricane approached. Eveline became unstable during the attack, infecting Alan and then running away adamant on not spending her life in a laboratory. "

(light bulb appears above head) That would explain the helicopter patrols that you find out about before the salt mine. Umbrella being a rivel corporation to the one that created eveline.

Alan being apologetic I took as him not forcing Evie to take her medication. The way that Mia agrees with him "Yes it IS your fault" makes me think that it was something he actually had a choice in. If he had been unable to because Evie had done something then wouldnt Mia be less hostile/blaming towards Alan? It's not 100% clear but thats my head canon of what happened.
