Not sure, I know you don't ever go into the front yard.

ah yeah thats common video game trope, a lot of the layout doesnt make sense weven thou in this game a lot of things are rather realistic and reasonable. I remember the first RE1 game having only one bathroom :)))

oh, so the yard where the trailer is, is not the front yard? i assumed since its the immediate way out from the MAIN HALL it would take me to the front yard.

the front door to the front yard where the gate and the games start is actually next to the iron door which leads to the main hall, its just full of tables and ♥♥♥♥ blocking it up. theres a mr.everywhere statue in front of it.

can't quite place the guest house tho, from what i gather its in front of the barn/lucas area but it seems too close to the boat house.
I think you are totally right, never noticed it, which is too bad wenever go to that area because it looks great tbh, hopefully in one of the DLC we will get to go there, maybe as "REDFIELD". Thanks for the answers.

I agree with that assesment of the layout since MINOR SPOILERS: The early visiting deputy who comes to the mansion appears at the window on the same face as that blockaded doorway and it makes logical sense that a visitor would approach from the front of the house ... Though don't know how he got past the lock gate ... Guess Jack must have left it open for him.

The replica house the came with the UK collector's edition (not the NA one) is quite accurate. You should look at that to see where everything is.

It's not a different mansion. What you enter is a guest house on a plantation and this is explained fairly early on in the game. Hence why it's referred to as a "guest house" and early on you enter the "main house".

To be honest, when I walk around the Baker's main house, I began to wonder. Where's the front door?

But the thing is, the house you first entered is not the main house. It was the guest house.

Still wonder how they deliver food to Mia when their front door is lock. And they definitely didn't go through the mines.
Guest house, main house and old house, you start in the guest house then Jack takes you to main house, then when you are on the yard what you see is the back of the main house.

You start in a smaller side house and then get dragged into the mansion. However I did notice that there is literally no door or pathway to get to the front door of the large mansion. I think it might just be an oversight.

Using logical reasoning, the front door of the mansion should be where the shotgun statue is, or at least on that side of the house. However like I said, I never noticed any kind of blocked door or anything leading that way.

It's pretty weird to answer a 3 year old thread but due to none finding a solution I thought it might be helpful: the main entrance is on the left side of the Main Hall in the west corridor, blocked by chairs, tables and a bike (probably after Ethan gets dragged in by Jack).

In my opinion, based on the bird's-eye view of the beginning house model (https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/comments/5qqgk0/re7_the_bakers_house_front_side_birdseye_view/), only the shotgun statue room makes sense to be the front door.

Let's think about it this way, maybe Baker's family doesn't want be disturbed by outsiders and doesn't want people to leave their house through there, so they sealed the original main entrance, made it a fake front door, and renovated interior to be the shotgun room. It can not only function as a trap for insiders ,but also prevent police from entering the unit from the other side.
