Red Dog Head Madhouse (Spoilers)
I just started a Madhouse run after finishing both endings in normal mode. So I get to the room where you get the red dog head and fight Jack with the chainsaw. Well I died and restarted back at the last save spot. I get back to the room and use the dissection key and enter the room. To my surprize the Red Dog Head is sitting right on the shelf in front of me. I decide not to pick it up because it just felt wrong to skip the fight and continued on. I then went into the room with the deputy and the dog head was no longer on the shelf. It has me puzzled. Maybe this has happen to someone else.

Is this just the randomness of Madhouse or something else, because getting the Red Dog Head without fighting Jack just seems like cheating?

I have played the game 5 times now and every time I have entered the dissection room the dog head was sitting on the shelf when you try to get the head Jack will take it away, talk to the deputy hanging on the wall then leave the room.

I didn't think there was any other way of doing this.

I have played on Easy, Normal and Madhouse and all have been the same with the dog heads.

you cant skip that fight ^^ actually there is a cutscene that plays if you try to pick up the Dog plate first, jack will grab it before you can but you could also just ignore it and carry on to skip that cutsene for a speedrun but the dog plate will be gone if you enter. Would have been a cool touch to skip that fight like you could in the yawn snake fight in RE1 by collecting the emblem and run.

Yeah I guess I just didn't notice it on my first playthroughs. Seeing it for the first time I just thought it odd. It just goes to show that you don't notice things sometimes playing through the game. I am finding more antique coins that I never found on my first playthroughs too.

Now this is actually a madhouse thing. The easy/normal only has 18 coins and three cages, while madhouse has 33 coins and ~seven cages (I don't remember exactly how many).

Oh ok. Yeah I noticed the more cages but didn't know about the increase in coins.
