We'll probably find out when the free dlc "Not a Hero" releases.
A) He's still cannibaling.
B) Jack cuts his hand off as well as the part where Lucas rips his own fingernails off (I saw that coming and I was just like "Sigh, just get it over with.") so it obviously has to grow back.
But how can victims be free of the E-series mind control if they are still infected? Are they separate things?
I need to study the story closer but I think they may have put in too many things. She may be a Mary Sue bioweapon /s
Tantsu is never confirmed to be "the company" who created anything. It could just be the people who manufactured those cases.
I'd have to dig back through the texts and replay the game but iirc the "control" is using some kinda chemical reaction/pheromone type ♥♥♥♥ I thought. In the games pseudo-science fiction I fail to see why they couldn't block that, but not block the infection on the whole.
Non-speculation:
If you remember the documents on the infection the regenerative power is the first thing that sets in, even before it majorly takes root in the brain. Hallucinations are a later stage aspect of the infection, and presumably connected to her "control".
Presumably they have a way to block or prevent certain stages or reactions. Plus it's worth noting the infection isn't clearcut, Mia was infected for what 3 years? But the serum didn't kill her.
If it could be blocked from progressing further or block certain reactions from taking place he'd still be ridiculously durable, without necessarily being cured. Kinda like Sherry's varient of the G-virus in plot (if memory serves).
The dinner scene made me think though.
Eveline is sitting right there. Right there next you. If her goal was to kill you, which according to both the beginning and end of the game it was, why wouldn't she just kill you at the dinner table?
There's this bit about how Eveline draws you there to become her father, and you even hear Jack when he takes the third dog head relief from your hand before the fight, talking to himself about :"I was supposed to be her daddy", so.....what?
Because clearly when you go back through the guest house at the end and she makes you hallucinate, she reveals it was her mind control causing Mia to try to kill you. So I fail to see why she would change her mind out of nowhere for like 12 seconds and then go back to making everyone try to kill you.
Is she just trying to pit Ethan and Jack against each other for shiggles?
A. The hallucination was just a hallucination and not accurate.
B. There's a missing piece of the "puzzle".
C. She's insane. Which being an engineered human/mold hybrid raised in a lab with some bizarre mental conditioning and a lack of treatment which is causing her to rapidly age (and probably other side-effects), isn't exactly far-fetched.
Knowing this franchise's plot any and or all could be likely.
But yea I agree.
