1.0 is the resolution u set the game at. 0.8 is a bit downscaled.

i get this info from the wbacom post in news tab.

"Resolution Scaling…controls the game’s internal rendering resolution. This is akin to upscaling and downsampling of the final video output. Selectable option ranges from 0.5X to 2.0X. 1.0X is 100% 1:1 native output. The higher the number, the better the image quality and more GPU ‘oomph’ required, while lowering it below 1.0 makes the image softer (but also reduces GPU overhead and increases frame rate)."

What is 75%? 0.9? ;/ and that affects performance? I mean if I set 1.2x or higher could I get some fps drops or suttering? ; o

Resolution scaling upscales or downscales your image.
Yes it will affect performance.
1 is the default.
If you go higher, the image will look better / sharper but your FPS will take a hit.
Go lower and the image quality will suffer the lower you go but your FPS will go up.

Depending on your hardware, find the sweet spot for you.
I'd say start with 1 and look at your FPS. Ramp it up or down a bit until you get the FPS you desire (may a stable 60 fps).
Ah well it suppose that 1 is the default but I get some stuttering, I have textures low and shadow high and cache off render normal and resolution 1 but when I switched resolution to 0.8 I don't get stutteting at all, and everything else on high, that's weird, I play Overwatch with render resolution at 100% and everything else ultra and the game runs pretty smooth, dunno this game is kinda.

I play Overwatch too, can have it at Epic settings and still get upwards of 70+ FPS on my GTX970. For Resident Evil 7, I have to bump Textures down to Medium and tweak other settings.

But Overwatch is a fairly easy game for the GPU. It's bright and doens't have a lot of shadows and reflections. Perhaps the varied lighting in Resident Evil is what causes the performance hit.
That's true but it's still weird RE7 is a single player with small places and dunno why render resolution causes stuttering on my side I know everyone has different troubles with this game but I realized mine is the resolution scaling, setting 100% causes stuttering lol oh but forgot to mention, during the first part everything runs smooth even at high settings it's just after the dinner scene so I have to downscaled resolution to 0.8 and restart the game and I the stutter is less, I hope it was a game issue and they could fix it ;/
