Me for one, and most of the people who watched the video, and tried the solution.

You can even add the guy who made the video as well, so that makes two, including the one above you which makes three.

I for one. Used SDE to get past the section at the start, saved, quit the game and closed the batch file I made to attach SDE to RE7's process. Been playing the game normally since then.
Otherwise there are a number of threads of others suggesting the same workaround.

Made a post myself about this, had a hiccup with my antivirus preventing the SDE from hooking properly, but I've since fixed it, this works, but I reccomend kicking the graphics down temporarily for when it decides to spike up at those SSE moments.

Ur welcome had the same problem.
Remember ever time it crash. To the same again. And the RE.EXE Service Number change all the time. Just in case u want to make urself a .bat file

Funktioniert, aber hätte man auch in 2-5 Minuten erklären können :D
Folgende Schritte sind zu tun:
-> Intel SDE für Windows in Spieleordner kopieren (vorher downloaden)
-> cmd als Admin
-> cd in Gameordner (Games\SteamGames\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard)
-> tasklist -> PID von RE7 raussuchen XZY
-> sde -attach-pid XYZ
-> Spiel starten und Mias Abschnitt vollständig spielen

EDIT (english version):
It works, but I think you can describe it in like 2 to 5 mins as well :D
Just do the following:
-> Copy Intel SDE for Windows into your game folder (just download it before)
-> start cmd.exe as an admin
-> Type: "cd " and your game folder and press Enter (e.g. Games\SteamGames\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard at my computer)
-> Type: "tasklist" into the cmd.exe as well (without "") and look for the PID of the RE7.exe (e.g. 1234)
-> Type: "sde -attach-pid 1234" into the cmd.exe as well
-> Start the RE7 Game and play the full part, while Mia is with you. Save the game manually and then you can start the game in "Normal" mode again

For anyone trying this method having trouble (sde emulator not working or game crashing when you enter the command) make sure your anti-virus software is disabled while you unpack the sde files. If you have windows defender you only need to disable it as far as I know, other antivirus software may need to be uninstalled temporarily.

As soon as you get to the part after the flooded basement where Ethan finds Mia, fights her with the axe and then she chops his hand off make a manual save upstairs and you should be fine and can turn of the emulator. Or you can just wait until dinner with the family to be safe, just takes a while longer with sde running. The game should not crash anymore after that point.

Finally! I use Comodo Internet security and disabled everything and it worked. Only annoyance is the next few minutes before the next save is VERY slow.

It has worked for me as well :D
I even got about 30-50 FPS with SDE activated, so it was playable as well :)
