Can't requip shotgun
So i Just escaped the mansion and had to briefly stash away shotgun so i could swap out some coins. I've got the shotgun back in my inventory now but i can't equip it. Can anyone shed insight on this?

You need to move the weapon back to slots 1-4. Click on it, press the 'R' key and then click on any weapons/items that are already equipped and it'll replace them. Pretty annoying system to say the least.
Weapons usually automatically placed in usable slots, check if you have a working shotgun, since one is wooden, one is broken (fixable though) and one is working from the get go.

Thanks mate. Didn't realise that i actually had to move it into the dpad slot. It pretty ridiculous that this UI issue exists in a high profile game, especially when its predecessors from 12,15 or even 21 years ago do not have this problem.

Right? Have completed every single thing, but Madhouse and read every note, having played 4 times, not even once had a problem with this. As soon as I take weapon from the stash, it is automatically placed into active slot.

If you have more than 4 weapons and need to switch them; it can be annoying especially on the fly. The fact that the UI is ripped from console as a controller is also a bit daft. It's not a major problem and many wont notice it as it's dependent on how many weapons you hold and what order you reapply weapons from stash to inventory but it can confuse and irritate when there are blatant and far more user-friendly solutions that have been overlooked.

Why would you have more than 4 weapons since some of those will use the same ammo type? Those guns would simply take up precious inventory space which can be filled with ammo and healing items + some quest items. On first walkthrough I never got more than 4, since ammo and health + craftable stuff took everything else and that is considering that I got all backpacks.
Not saying that it couldn't have been done differently, just questioning why someone would need more than 4 weapons.

It depends what your playstyle is but many players who want a challenge and are going for specific achievements need a varied armoury especially on Madhouse where you will bleed ammo and be required to switch rapidly. My run saw me with a pistol, knife, burner, SMG, grenade launcher, and shotgun and I needed all of those to see me through at some point. The issue isn't major but the feature could've been implemented better and not in console port form and that's the sole criticism.

I wonder if on Madhouse circular saw is as good as it is on normal/easy. Cause as soon as I unlocked it, I had such a fun time cutting molded, that I saved so much ammo for the rest of the game, that not once I ran out of it.
