Is it possible to play the very first resident evil game on pc?

I saw some youtubers play Resident Evil 1 on the pc and i was wondering how and where to download it from.

I don't know why you wouldn't want to just play the Remake of RE. It's just as good. Unless you just want to experience the pixel nostalgia and audio.

Which I tottaly understand. ;) I would love to relive my PSone days all over again.

Download ePSXe and the RE 1 psx ISO. There is also an offical PC version you can probably download for free from somewhere.

If you want very accurate PS1 alike emulation go for Xebra/Arbex thou not ePSXe as for the original PC version just getit from eBay its a classic ^^

I actually know someone who still owns it. It's the only re with the original style that I actually haven't played, because it just felt terrible even compared to re2. Might try just for the hell of it.

Yes , the first resident evil ORIGINAL in pc is only Windows 2000 or XP.

or play the sega saturn version, that one has additional content, a golden tyrant and a dual tyrant fight as Chris, new deadly hunters in the cave, mercenaries mode sp where you fight Wesker ! Only downside is SSF is tricky to run and the saturn went into obscurity fast.

or, play Deadly Silence on the DS, that one has knife aiming on L-Button, quick reload, quick turn, harder rebirth mode, sexy costume for Jill and whatnot, highly recommended. Hell I would even say Saturn RE1 and Deadly Silence have the best extra content out of all RE1 versions, forget the crappy DC!!!

The two games are different from each other, it's not hard to understand.

Not to say the HD remaster is bad (it's actually quite a solid remaster), it just plays differently than the original
(the zombie's movements and different, juking zombies with the tank controls are more anxiety inducing than with the HD tank controls, the puzzles are different, the lighting is different and the music especially is better in the original version, etc. etc.)
and doesn't have the old-school PS1 charm to it.

If there was no difference, then the devs would not have bothered making the ReRelease.
