Guide to decent third party VR support for RE7

Hey guys I spent a lot of time trying to get an acceptable VR experience out of RE7 for PC. There isn't real head tracking but it is 3D and pretty awesome. It is, however, a sit down only experience. Please try my method before flaming. I know it isn't at all how the real VR is intended to be but I honestly think it's really fun and awesome this way.

Here's how I got RE7 in what I call quasi-VR:

1. First purchase and download Virtual Desktop. If you don't have it already you should pick it up as a must have for any serious VR headset owner.

2. Download the latest version of ReShade (https://reshade.me).

3. Download the latest version of the SuperDepth3D shader for ReShade (https://github.com/BlueSkyDefender/Depth3D)

4. Install ReShade and point it at your RE7.exe. (Usually at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard\")

When asked to install default packs please accept and only select the shader named "Vignette".

5. Extract SuperDepth3D.

6. Copy the file "\Depth3D-master\Depth3D-master\Shaders\SuperDepth3d.fx" to the newly created "\reshade-shaders\shaders\" folder in your RE7 directory.

7. Start RE7.

8. When ReShade is done starting it's shaders press Shift+F2 to access the configuration menu for ReShade. Enable Vignette and SuperDepth3D.

9. Under the variables section in ReShade find and change the SuperDepth3d Alternate Depth map to "DM 37". Change the disocclusion power to "0.100". Scroll down to the Vignette shader and change the vignette type to "TV style".

10. Make sure that the vignette shader is listed before the 3D shader or you will not get a nice even fade on each eye. You can change the order by clicking and dragging it to a new position on the list.

11. Launch Virtual Desktop. Set screen to curved and 150 degrees and screen distance to minimum. Set background to none. With the vignette it will seem like you are looking through characters eyes. This is the best way to play so far...

12. When you are ready to play RE7 in 3D, click on Half SBS and Alt-Tab into the game. When you enable SBS, it will be very difficult to see objects outside of the game. Remember that the hotkey is F7 when you Alt-Tab out of the game.
