Dev question
Hey there Ufnv. Well done with the game so far. very polished for a solo production.

From what i can see the races hull designs are all varied and what im wanting to do is do some poking around to get a feel for each of the races hulls and design quirks.

I did have a look around the game files for some info but could not locate any, So what im wondering is there a dev mode in the game or a place i can get the base hull design information without having to grind through each race to get it in game.

wanting block layout blueprints and base hull information kind of thing since i am seeing a lot of variation between the reaces with little information in the game other than the generic hull info.

would like to do a write up about it as a basic guide as to how ships are wanting to be worked on.

Run

polarissector.exe -design

and use Shift + num to switch between races, num is from 0 to 8.

Also you can run

polarissector.exe -extract all

to have all resources unpacked and available.

I want to know this as well as i was looking for the different races layout in the game folder but couldn't really find anything that sounds like it.

On a sidenote, I recently refitted my Fighters (playing as erians) with actiive Warparmor and wondered why my fighter gets a bigger boast out of it than my gunboat which is a few tech tiers higher and heavier.

It's a modding tool, you can change the cells there...

also there is a standalone battle arena...

Hey there Ufnv, got another question, figure il just drop it in here rather then make another thread.

Long distance scanning array, what kind of range does it have if any outside the system it is built in and is there a way to have scanners displayable on the map or an icon on the planet map by a system it is built in?

Great idea. Also some sort of espionage on their locations in ai empires? Surgical strikes to reduce their scanners before large offensives.

I hate steamrolling wars. War shouldnt be an easy affair.

also, in the economics section, while using list view, there is a section for ground units at the planet, wondering if a fleet section is possible to have there so its eassier to locate a planet without a defence fleet/starbase. or just a marker like the initiatives collum to indicate there are ships present.

I'm trying polarissector.exe -design (mostly to test designs in the battle simulator) and I keep getting "Invalid Serial Key". Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I purchased the game on Steam rather than the website if tht makes a difference.

Creating a Steam shortcut or selecting launch options polarissector.exe -design
or just -design doesn't work for me. I will have to try it via a shortcut on my other computer with the Slitherine version installed.

Game is deeper than I thought (so far) and more fun than GalCiv3.

navigat to the game install directory. create a shortcut too the game exe, and add the -design too the new shortcut.

"Invalid Serial Key" that's the message if I try to do so. Even if doing nothing I can't launch the game form that directory only from steam

Strange. If steam is on it should work? Try offline mode.
