So no, not one weapon to win the game. What a narrow minded thing to claim.
I have lost 90+ battleships with a mix of cannons and lasers. Not just one type either. At least 6 differend weapon types, at all maxed tech. Simply because my ships did not shot a single volley at the enemy battleships. So whatever magical weapon combo is valid apart from those missiles, it obviously is not one i did consider valuable at that point in tech.
If that is considered a valid gameplay mechanism, then i am very narrow minded indeed.
Mind sharing what weapons can attack them, apart from antimatter missiles then?
That is nice and all. Just bad if they wipe your armada before you actually get to see their description, right? After all they do jump into a random system. And i am sure it is not totally random, as my armada was split in 3. And all 3 where targeted within less then 5 ingame years.
That is not enough time to react at all, so you either have the right weapons, or the game is over. Not going to bash this any further. Some people love to be killed by mechanics like that. I don't. I had a really bad time with the game and this endgame feature just prooved to be the last nail in the coffin. Did not have any fun before that either.
So don'T take my rambling too serious. Focus on people that do enjoy the game and improve their experience. For me personally, you can't change enough, so ill move on.
There is not even a remote chance to beat that (I could if I coudl bring my Deathstar Stations, those can go toe to toe with a Battleship.
Well, just for the Theoshians, yeah. However, I use different weapons on different warships against the AI empires, such as superlaser. That's a lot of fun. :)
What? 120 Battleships? your mods must have screwed up something.
well 120 Theoshians battleship is the 2nd coming of Christ. End of all ends. Ain't no way Jose to defeat 120 of that. Just ain't happening :P
Take your time and micro manage with pausing and slow time as needed. a few mistakes will be difference between winning and losing.
Having a weakness is nice and all, but why make it near impossible for any other kind of weapon? Why are they so weak to photon torpedoes yet able to more or less laugh off all other kinds of weapons?
Where does one look in that file to change this.... issue?
I just launched my final invasion. Has over two thousand photon topedo armed fighters, two hundred ships armed to the teeth with the best armor and shields, and got smashed when they had over 1000 cruisers, 500 destroyers, and over 200 battleships. And that was on easy. any advice?
Jesus i never saw them having so many ships, i played on hard. Maybe smaller galaxy size or i faster got around to counbter attack them.
From my experience there are 2 major weakness of Theosians : the very slow speed of tehir weapons and lack of strong anti fighter defenses.
Yuo can fight them with fast destoyers , dodging their fire, tough it rquieres alot of micromanagament. You can fight them with fighters and torps, tough it requiers a lot of missiles stores. And the numerous destoryers can be handled by battleships.
Below a video how i fought them. Its onyl a small battle, but you can see how it works, each of the tactics i mentioned above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKVTM5C-BD4
