Crash at start up

I have been having trouble with starting the game. it crashes on made with unity screen. Windows 10 on ROG 22'

I was having this problem, what worked for me was running the game with admin privileges.
1. Go to the exectuable at steamapps\common\Shadow Tactics\Shadow Tactics.exe, then
2. Right click (or Shift+Right click) and select Run as Administrator.

Same, cant play it. Cant run it even as Administrator.

Right click on the game in your library, manage, browse local files. Right click on Shadow Tactics.exe, properties, compatibility, check disable fullscreen optimizations, check run as administrator.

That solved it for me. Hope it helps.

I have the same issue. The things mentioned above did not work for me.

Is it the same error message for you?

You can find this logfile in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow Tactics\Shadow Tactics_Data.

　Tactics.exe, properties, compatibility,『select windows 8』.
The OS of my PC is windows 11.

Hello,

I reinstalled the game after a few years not playing it. It launched normally, but crashed during the first mission's intro cutscene. Then it was impossible to relaunch (I tried all the tricks: registry manual edits; compatibility mode; admin rights; etc)

After struggling for a while I realized that the first crash had happened after unplugging my headphones to put the sound on my speakers.
I retried booting the game with the headphones on, and it works. However after a clean exit and relaunch it will systematically crash if I book without the headphones plugged.

Any idea how to fix the startup?

This happened to me today. None of the tips given here so far (admin mode, Windows 8 compatibility mode, disabling hi-res optimisation) worked. What did, however, at least for me, was disabling Steam overlay. Game seems to start reliably now.

I've had the same problem. I've solved it using the following reccomendations:
　Tactics.exe > Properties > Compatibility tab > Select Windows 8
My PC OS is Windows 10. Hope that helps
