Mugen kill with crushing rocks

I am playing on MacOS Mojave, and I do not get the "area" to throw a boulder when Mugen picks it up. I can only drop the boulder (LCTRL) at one point by having Mugen go there. In Suganuma Village mission. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there some setting to do this?

You have to press A (by default) or click the throw button at the bottom of the screen (where his sword icon normally is)

Press 'A' for aim and Left click to throw it.
