Questions and Criticism.
Hello

Now that I've completed the game I have some questions, some hopefully constructive criticism and suggestions. My questions and criticism blend into each other.

Also spoilers I guess.

Questions and Criticism.

- The game is (user) tagged as a stealth game, and you do need to be sneaky, but I felt during my gameplay that stealth wasn't the main part of the game. You were often faced with situations that were impossible to do in stealth, either because of too many enemies covering each other or not having the right tools.

The way I see stealth is sneaking past or eliminating the enemy unseen, but there were instances where I was unable to find a methode to do either, of course I might just have not seen it but I spent a good 1 - 3 hours in every map trying to play my way with varying success, but looking at the speedrun time I have a feeling my way is wrong.

- There is a lack of 'variety' in the infiltration points, I'll try my best to explain this.
What I mean is, atleast the way I want to play with sneaking past guards, I need to climb unto roofs, cliffs and anything else that will give me a height advantage.
But because there are only a few of the hookshots/vines and fewer ladders, that also have enemies often patrolling around it it really narrows down the paths availiable when trying to remain unseen.

One example of it being linear in terms of the path you have to take is Sunpu Castle http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=816885797 as I forgot to take a screenshot when I was actually there and my last save didn't go quite far enough back, but where my curser is, is where I thought I could take a path to climb up to Noburu but alas no cigar. This really annoyed me as it was quite the pain to get Aiko past the Samurai's on the way there to find out its useless. Admittedly this was the only thing I could think of with only 1 way.

On the other hand I really liked the hidden paths you can unlock on both Mount Tsuru's by using the Swan statues.

Still I would have liked to have more ways to scale walls/houses/cliffs, things like maybe having one character boost another up and then having the other one pull the first up though I recognize that if not balanced it would make things too easy.

Suggestions

- Camera angle, if possible please give us the ability to get a more birds-eye view on things, personally that is something I like to have when playing games in this style plus it would help minimize (my:cgrazz:) misclicks.

- When using the Q and E keys to rotate the camera instead of having it do a set degree for every click let it be a slide akin to using LALT and the mouse, its just more comfortable IMO.

- In night maps it would be nice if the map was darker and light souces brighter, just to make it feel more like night.

While I know its unlikely you'll release major changes, unless you release an expansion *Wink Wink*, I hope to atleast provide feedback that could be helpful, and best of luck with your next game(s).

your right. the game is stacked against you from the get go. mostly you have to cheese your way through because the enemies los is so spastic and once your seen thats it. they also have crack shots. ive been shooting for over ten years and ive never seen guards shoot like that. ive finished commandos and commandos 2 and desperados and even that gay ass robin hood. all of those games had better gunplay when you get caught.

another one of my gripes is that annoying slow motion when you go through guards los. because its slow motion for you but enemeies from across the map will automatically hone in their guns on you and kill you even though they werent even the ones who saw you. like I dont know what the deal is wiith that but it seems like every time I try to kill an enemy unseen I am automatically spotted by a guard who was looking hte other direction and then killed.

this game hasnt been fun for me. I loved commandos and desperados. I even went through the sequels to desperados and they were more unforgiving as far as mechanics but designed better to at least allow players a path forward. for this piece I know that I spent at least 5 hours looking at ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ load screens because even the slightest movement or anything I try to do except for the one thing you have to do will result in my death.

the camera is a nightmare. what kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lid uses q and e to orbit and the arrow keys to move? how about q and e to orbit and wsad to move?!? duh

Im not saying this game is bad... its good compared to other games this year. Ill finish it but the whole twenty some hours will be a frustrating and infuriating nightmare. unlike commandos 1, 2, desperados, robin hood, and sequels... they were hard but fun and rewarding. this game is just unfair and I dont enjoy any of it like I did those other games. I cant explain why. I mean the commandos 1 expansion was hard but fun. this is just gay. sorry

I am not sure there is a place you are forced to break stealth. It depends on if you want to take the time to do it without getting caught. I think the hardest part (for me) might have been the beginning of the end mission where they wanted precise runs to avoid detection or ammo use.

with a bunch of guards staring at each other, you have a few options (not including Aiko's skill or shadow mode)

1) If bodies are in the shadow area, and never touch the instant detection area, they won't be seen. So the trick is to kill them fast enough that the body drops before the shadow portion of the sight cone hits the body.

2) Yuki is the bomb. have people chase you out of sight witht he flute.

3) If it is too far to hide in cover, you can use a Yuki/Kuma combo. Kuma can pull them in closer
and then Yuki's flute will break them away from Kuma.

4) If they are in that long range shadow area, Kuma is usually enough to distract the watcher while you kill the target.

5) Yuki and Aiko can drag bodies through the shadow portion of the sight cones undetected (they just can't actively kill in there)

6) corpses are awesome bait and people with question marks are dumb. I think half the time you can get lucky and just slaughter a bunch of question marks without getting into trouble.

7) I usually kill the mobile patrols first so I don't have to quick load 50 times after I mess up something more complicated.
