It takes me an average of 3.5 to 4 hours for each level. It is hard.

what diff you playing on? im on normal

It's not that hard, it's just that when you start playing you approach it differently - you tend to see a map and look at eliminating all the guards, when quite often you can just avoid them. Try some of the end of level challenges and they force you to think in different ways, many of which you'll then end up using when you play more.

Wow really? Takes me an average an hour and half or so.

But ive played all predecessors, Commandos, Desperados, Robin Hood and their sequels, so i guess im really used to this type of gameplay.

As to the OP, no the game is not hard. It is challenging and requires you pay attention. Maybe you are just not used to it yet.

It's normal for a first time player without any experience in the genre, I think. It took around that time for me during my first try. It's not really "hard", it just eats up time since the game requires lots of planning. Once you get used to the enemy's moving pattern the time will go down a lot (speed runs)

Cherish that first moment when you feel overwhelmed on the new map, because when you going to run the second time, you will wonder; what took me so long :)

I think the third mission has been the hardest in game this far by a large marigin. I am now in mission 10, so not seen all yet though. Probably its not that hard really, but its a big difficulty spike after missions 1-2. Took me over 3 hours to complete it (irl hours, the watch is 2.5h or something). Mission 4 felt very easy after that though.

depends on our way of tackling problems,i prefer killing guards rather than avoding them

I played hardcore directly when I began to play this game and most of the missions took me more than 2 hours to finish. And I get tired, played normal to get all achievements (except 8 of 11 speed runs). And I get tired, I am playing easy forever.

It took a lot of time to finish the missions for me too, often over 3 hours. I guess I could have done it faster but sometimes I have a plan in mind how exactly I want to do something and then I try to find a solution to do it that way - even if I was aware after some time that there was a simpler solution.

For me one reason times tend to get longer, is that I have tendency to reload the game whenever I am hurt. Being spotted is ok, but when music changes, extra enemies appear, and I start to lose hp, I reload.

I have stopped doing that now though, and adjusted to an idea that I dont have to do perfectly, and its part of the game and can work even as a tactic that enemies can sometimes see you.

Yeah it just requires some patients I think. Which is hard for some ;D

I've never played this time of game before, so I found it really difficult even playing on normal. The quickest level took me about an hour (Mission 4) but I'm pretty sure the last mission took me upwards of 3.5 hours.

Yes. It is hard. But that's kinda the point in this kind of game. I took about 2 hours on the earlier levels and 3 to 4 on the later. Not necessarily because i couldn't go on but because i'm a perfectionist. If i see enemies i want them dead. All of them. Even if i could easily sneak past them and there is zero reason to kill them. I want the entire map empty of hostile forces.

That makes the game a lot harder than it needs to be. But a lot more fun as well.
