Japanese Pronunciation
My Japanese is very limited, but the pronunciation I studied had minimal stress accents. There were accents of length, for example the O of Osaka was prolonged, since it serves as an honorific. In this game, I hear what sounds like Americanized pronunciations: oSAka, for example. Have I been misled or is this a case of voice actors catering to the American ear?

I'm a Japanese language student, and the Japanese version of the game definitely sounds like it's native speakers. Yuki in particular sounds very modern when she talks, like a typical teenager. In the cutscene before Mission 2, the Japanese narration definitely says "Oh-saka" in the correct way.
Not wanting to be an annoying nitpicking kind of guy either, but the 'O' in Osaka is the kanji for 'big', (Osaka = big slope/big hill). If it was an honorific, it'd be a shorter sound.
Props to the devs for including Japanese dialogue, though, I've learned loads of good stuff to come out with in class, like "My sword is thirsty for blood!" or "For the Shogun!" For some reason, the teachers have stopped asking me for example sentences... :D

Voices are definitely native Japanese speakers, and on top of that, most of them speak in old Japanese and certainly not in Americanized way. Yuki is the only one who has current generation anime acting, the rest of the casts is closer to Akira Kurosawa movies than Americanized Japanese. I have lived in Japan for 10+ years.

I think he's refering to japanese words in the English dub, no?
Otherwise, yes, the Japanese version is clearly native japanese...

Just curious why the English Hayato says "kindergarten" in Japanese while throwing a rock.

I was referring particularly to Japanese names in the English version which sound more like Spanish than Japanese to me. But what do I know?
