How does multiplayer work?

But the storefront features list only says "Single-player" with no mention of multiplayer, whether online or LAN or shared/split-screen.

if the multiplayer is official server based then I would assume they are offline by now

but would love some info from people who play the game still

Not sure if this would help, but when on the overworld map, clicking on the globe in the lower right brings up some options regarding multiplayer.

Stumbled upon that by accident myself, have yet to be placed into any team, so again, it may or may not do things.

Just thought I'd chime in is all.
