Fugitive Quest

I don't know if it's a bug or I'm doing a mistake. It says to fulfil the deal destroing pursuers, but no dedicated battle shows up. What shall I do?

Going to necro this a bit... been trying to get Blade to appear, but nothing ever does. All that happens in some friendly pirates show up and sail around. No battle. Nothing... oh, and a Leviathan.

EDIT

I got the second part of this to pop up, but that leviathan is just ridiculous. Screw this quesst.

If you don't see some event, try to sail around, try to look around, try to look on another map, try to return from another map. Everything pops up eventually. And levi is not a big deal. I don't remember if you actually need to be sunk by it for quests, but if you do, don't sweat it, being sunk is part of the game experience. :)

And if you see the quest but you have to sail around to finally find someone and they aren't who you're looking for? Been sailing circles in the quest area (not fast travel) for around 3 hours now... killed plenty of pirates, even boarded a few of them... no quest advance. (no sea monsters either which is a bit odd based on the thread so far)

You are actually just doing it wrong. To activate certaing quests shown on the map you need to use the fast travel, and then CLICK the icon of the mission shown on the map. That will spawn the needed NPC's for the quest

that was the problem, I started NOT fast travelling based on the info from Stan because it wasn't appearing on my fast travel after 5 minutes or so (previous encounters appeared way faster) -- i played another 15ish hours crossing borders multiple times before the pin ever appeared on the fast travel map. At that point I had given up on the quest and moved on (but didn't try to remove it from my quest log). It did eventually show up, but it took waaay too long to be reasonable.
