Mission Sea wolves and sea sheep

Dose anyone know how to beat this mission? There are three options and the only one I can select is kill. And well I die every time. How do you get the the other two options.

I'm looking for this answer, as well. No matter what I do, I get shot and die. I've tried the mission at least 20 times now. What am I missing here?

I finally beat it. 3 tries. South of your town and West of Black Skull Island appeared a palm tree icon called Sea Wolves and Sea Sheep. I had to fight solo, just my gun and my cutlass with no cannons from my ship. There were between 8 - 10 pirates, I was too excited to keep track. First two times they killed me. The third time I got them. Mostly just used my gun. After that they have some chests by their tents and just turn it in at your town.

I’m obviously missing something on the iOS version, doesn’t seem to be any way to avoid being overwhelmed. I have the 3 shot pistol and can take 3 out quickly but the rest just hang back and pick me off. Looks like there should be alternatives to the “kill” approach but no obvious way to activate them.

So the Poison option requires the Poisonous Asp reputation, earned very slowly by using Poisonous cannonballs. No idea about the 3rd option.

I hide behind rocks to let them shoot at the rocks. Then when someone comes I unload my pistol on them. If there are a few of them, I have to back up and look around so I don't aggro a revenant. If I run out of ammo I just keep evading running in circles. If you can get to a fire the fire will heal you but not very quickly. If you run directly away you will loose aggro and have to start over. I prefer to keep them where I can see them. Also if you can't use your cannon balls because your ship is out of range sometimes you can move your ship closer by hugging the coast not on map but in the first person and other landings may become available.
Other than that I cant think of any advice to offer. It was VERY hard for me.

Thanks. I’ve managed a couple of times to get down to 1 remaining. I’m doing this on the iPad version, as far as I’m aware using the ship isn’t an option. I have tried using rocks as cover but there don’t seem to be any that work.

Oh god! I couldn't do that on an iPad. I am on a PC. I have tried it on my S8 and it was impossible. I doubt an iPad would be much easier.

Apparently the Release option requires Outcast faction with Pirates. Which kinda sucks as I just finished getting all 8 to max ally.

Finally I got lucky and didn’t get shot. Not really sure how and doubt I could repeat it.

Interestingly, now I’ve gone to Jade Seas, I do get the option to fire ship cannons during land quests. I haven’t worked out if this only works in the Jade Seas land encounters, or if it would now be available in the Sea Wolves encounter as well.

HINT: barrels explode if you shoot them
