Boat stuck & can't click anything

Hello, I am fairly new to the game and so it could just be a lack of knowledge. Anyways, my problem is that on the first mission I chose at a nearby port after the tutorial, it tells me to sail to certain waypoints. The first one is directly North of the town, and getting there isn't an issue. The issue arises when I reach the location, I can't move my boat anymore, and I can't click on any UI other than the top left esc settings pop up. All UI prompts are greyed out. I looked up the controls as well, and tried anything that could make sense, but nothing did anything. Am I missing something?
Some more notes about the location is that it is a set of islands with a glowing rock with a ship wrecked on it, with floating islands. Another note is that the middle UI magical icon is slightly flashing, but clicking does nothing.

Ps: also is there a way to look at your map without it resetting you at the nearest encampment?

Nothing I can do after this happens and is pretty game breaking

But something went wrong with your island. Have you already tried to restart the game?

And try to swim to the academy by marker and not by map.

Hello and yes I've attempted the mission 4 separate times all after game restarts. Additionally, I've only done the free sailing, no map fast travel.

Sure, where are the saves normally located?
Also ps: Don't really need a corrected save, as I am early enough in the game to start a new save. Mainly I am just letting you know about this bug, so you guys have the option to squash it if you wish to.

You can find it here: c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\LionsShade\

Carefully, it can be a hidden folder.
