Though is has no Kraken, no Undead, also it is typically harder to play and succeed in, but if you do well, you can capture forts, run a fleet or trade.
Tempest is faster paced battles, undead, kraken and other mythical creatures and easier to play.
Yeah, it's a good introduction to pirate games, it lacks features other more advanced ones has, but it's not stupidly simplified to make it boring.
I'd definitely recommend Tempest for any pirate enthusiasts, if it's your first Naval combat game, it'll be great training grounds :)
My ship is a ghost galleon with a blood wake. It's covered by shields, and it has extremely long range, excellent turning time, and it's faster than most of the ships in the game. I fire chain shot until all the enemies can't move, then board and capture all the vessels I can. There's valuable treasure in chests on each vessel. This game plays more like an RPG than a naval sim.
