[PARTIALLY SOLVED] co op not working? instantly "fail to join room"

EDIT: so i joined a random game and had a friendly player named "Paco" tell me how to fix this issue. so the person who wants to join, lets call him "bob," and his friend, lets call him "jeff," want to play. so jeff creates a room and names it something. and he sits there and waits. meanwhile, bob launchs up his game and chooses the option to join a random game (in the same region as jeff). if he does NOT end up in jeff's game then bob CLOSES his game and restarts it. once back in game bob now specifically joins jeff's room by entering in the room name jeff wrote. he is then able to connect to jeff's created room.

this may not work for you but it's how i was able to join my friend. ty to paco and dev's fix your game. thanks.

so my friend lives in the UK i live in the US and we are trying to get co op to work. we have tried me hosting on a US server, he puts the US as his region as well. he types in the room name and it instantly says "failed to join room"

so we did the same thing with him hosting on EU and me setting my region to EU and then i got the "failed to join room" the very second i clicked on the join button

to create our rooms we clicked on the create or join room button, and then one of us would name the room and tell the other the name of the room. then the joiner would enter that name into the input and then they received the "failed to join room" a second after clicking the join button.

any options? or are we just screwed?

is bit bugged, me and friends are italian and we have just create a server in japan XD just one in and the other try to switch server and select the right one with the EXACTLY same name

so basically create a room in each region and try to see which one we can join through?

ok so tried every server region with the same room name with both of us joining and both of us hosting. neither of us was able to connect to the other. also tried with another friend who lives in the US. same issue between the two of us as well.

My Freind and I Both live in US and can not connect. Same Error no matter who creates the room: Person 1 Makes room called Room1 on US (or any server) and Person 2 tries to join Room1 and gets the Error : Can Not connect to Room1, Attempting to create new chat room named Room1, Failed, Room1 already exists, select a different room name. .... We are on eachother's Steam Freinds List... and we even tryed Checking the Box : Make Public ... No Difference. Same Error...

did you read the edit in my post? because, according to your comment, you did not attempt to do what i put in the edit in my post. which is how i got my co op to work. i am frustrated you are posting your issue without attempting the fix i have put in the main post.

to further clarify the fix that is already in my main post (which you must have not read):

you or your friend creates a room. the other person who has NOT created a room joins a RANDOM ROOM. if the random room he has joined is not YOUR ROOM he then leaves and exits his game. during this time you CONTINUE TO HOST YOUR ROOM. your friend then re launches his game and now he types in the NAME of your room to join it. and the entire time you are both doing these steps be in the same region (ie: US)

this is how i was able to join my friend after getting the same error you are getting.

We've been trying for an hour to get 3 people on one named server. No luck. this game is seriously broken - and not just the multiplayer. Yet another great concept, torpedoed by a rush to get out the door.
