How can I manually backup my save file?

I'd like to make a save backup without using steam cloud. Where is the save file located please?

In Windows, go to

%LOCALAPPDATA%\CC3_steam_greenlight\

. (On my computer, this is C:\Users\MyWindowsUsername\AppData\Local\CC3_steam_greenlight\ .)

Hmmm why cant i find the save file? I go into my user name fodler but there is no APPDATA folder and when I go into the steam directory where callys caves is, there is no save.ini file

Depending on the Windows you're using the APPDATA folder can be at a bit different location.

Oh okay, I'm on windows 10.

There is a blank text file in the callyscaves folders titled something like "this file has your game save information" but its totally blank when I open it

The AppData directory is hidden, so you won't see it in the default Explorer settings. You can do one of the following:

go to the directory directly by pressing Windows key + R to pop up the Run dialog, copy-and-paste
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\CC3_steam_greenlight\"
into there, and clicking the OK button or pressing the Enter key
enable the viewing of hidden files (View hidden files and folders in Windows 10[support.microsoft.com] or Show hidden files (Windows 7/8.1/10)[support.microsoft.com]) (but you may want to undo this when done, since various important things are hidden by default to prevent casual users from breaking certain things)
