FIXED HOW TO PLAY WITH FRIENDS 2024

I have spent an entire day with a friend trying to figure this out.

If you are typing in your friends IP and it is returning
"0.0.0.0:14242"
It is because you must enter the IP in decimal form.
If you search on google "IPV4 to decimal", you will find many converters.

I personally also setup port forwarding to my PC for 14242.
It is setup as TCP/UDP, im not 100% sure if you need to but I did it anyways.

BUT HERE IS THE SECOND TWIST...
You have to reverse the IP's order before converting.

EXAMPLE
If my external IP is:
36.24.12.48
i must enter into the converter:
48.12.24.36

You will get a big number with no dots. enter that in and it will work.

We tried it, it does display the correct ip in connection, but it's stuck on "Disconnected. Connecting to" followed by the ip
