A dev can add simple VR support (Headtracking and 3D) to virtually any game with SteamVR code injection in one day, yet so many can't be bothered to.
No, not every game needs VR (Platformers, 2D only games), but there are so many games out there I would buy in a heart beat if they included virtually free VR support.
You don't want my money? That's fine, but forgetting the customer is always right is your downfall, not mine.
Just think about it - Steam Store main page - and the line: "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture NOW in VR!" ? it would be amazing, because when you play in games like this in VR it is really atmospheric, immersive and feels like you are in game.
Don't believe that. I made a game (Cutish) and am trying to do it in VR. It's a huge pain, I assure you. A large team can do it without doubt but alone, it is not easy
EDIT: It works! You need to go to "Cloud Profiles" and search for the game there, but it works, albeit in 3D screen mode! It's something?
Not every game needs VR (i say as a VR user). And it definitely isn't as simple as you're portraying here
