Xbox Controller expected to tilt with motion controls?
I understand this game was originally made for the PS4, but when you port a game to PC, you should expect many of your players to be using an Xbox style controller.

Walk, look, and interact works fine for me, but when it asks me to activate the events, it tells me to use the motion controls my controller doesn't have.
Now I don't even know if the run input will work.

I could use the simplified version of activating events, but moving the orb is one of the few moments of gameplay this has, and it works well for build up. By not let it work with the sticks, like you designed it as for mouse and keyboard?

Is there a way to set it to have normal event controls AND using sticks instead of motion controls?

I had the same problem. Try to disable Steam Input in the game's controller settings so that the default controller is used. Then the trigger for the orb is LT + Right Stick

In accessibility you can turn on "enhanced tuning" which turns off the motion controls for those events. I had to turn this on when playing on the steam deck as "tuning" was impossible with the steam deck accelerometer
